My heart shot straight up to my throat as I watched him strip down–fast.
He was just about to unbuckle his belt when three knocks came from the door.
“Renzo? Why’d you leave your phone in the study? Grandpa’s calling. Pick it up now.”
As Rocco’s steady voice came through the door, Renzo’s face instantly darkened with frustration.
Still holding the blanket up to my chest, I looked at him and sighed. “Go on. If it’s Grandpa, it’s probably important.”
He hesitated for a second, then pulled his clothes back on. As he leaned over, he pressed a kiss to my cheek.
“Wait for me,” he murmured, then turned and walked out.
The moment the door clicked shut, I let out a huge breath of relief.
Right then, a notification popped up on my phone–a shipping update.
The stuff I’d ordered that afternoon had already been sent out under a private listing.&
I hurried to delete the purchase record and tracking details. I was just about to lock my phone when a new Facebook friend request popped up.
[Hey. It’s me Rocco.]$
Four words. Simple like him.
I hit [Accept] without hesitation and quickly messaged him.
[Hey, bro!]
I waited a bit, hoping for a reply. But nothing came.
Eventually, I dozed off without even realizing it.”
The next morning, I woke to the sound of the maids chatting in the hallway.

Acting like it didn’t concern me, I casually ran my fingers through my hair as I made my way downstairs at a leisurely pace.
At the head of the dining table sat Rocco.
In front of him was a plate with a neatly toasted slice of bread, a steaming mug of black coffee, and today’s financial newspaper folded crisply at the edge.
“Morning, bruh,” I greeted casually, sliding into the seat to his left like it was routine.
He glanced up from his paper, eyes sharp but lazy, landing briefly on my lips–still soft and full, probably still slightly red from last night.
He took a sip of his coffee, his Adam’s apple shifting subtly as he swallowed. Then, like it was nothing, he asked, “School’s on break, right? Got any plans today?“}]
I smiled, relaxing a bit. “Meeting up with some girlfriends to go shopping.”
“I’ll go with you,” he said casually.
Caught off guard, I blinked. “No need! You’re super busy, bruh. I can just have the driver take me.“>
But he waved that off without missing a beat. “It’s settled.”
And just like that, there was no room for argument.
In the car, the driver–sharp as ever–raised the partition without being asked.
Rocco rested his laptop on his lap, his long fingers flying smoothly across the keyboard. Even while working, he still had the bandwidth to talk.
Without even looking up, he asked, “How long have you and Renzo been seeing each other?”
I froze for a second. It took me a moment to realize he was talking to me.”
“Um… a year,” I said slowly.
For some reason, talking to him always made me a little tense–especially when my eyes drifted down to his hands. Those nimble fingers…
I couldn’t help but remember that night. The way those hands had run wild all over me.
“Only a year, huh?” he muttered, as if to himself. “No wonder…“>
‘Huh? No wonder? What does he mean by that? No wonder I hadn’t recognized him that night?‘ I contemplated.”
‘If so…‘ I realized, ‘that means he still doesn’t know I’ve been reborn. And until I figure out exactly where I stand with him, there’s no way I’ll let that secret slip!‘
Still playing dumb, I tilted my head toward him. “What do you mean, bruh?“}
At that, he finally shut the laptop and turned to face me.
