Chapter 13
One of them politely asked in Auralian, “Ma’am, do you know this man? He used a marriage certificate last night to check your reservation
information.
“But when he asked us to open the door for him, we noticed that he and the woman beside him were acting very close, more like a couple. We had doubts about his identity and asked him to call you for confirmation.
“Since he couldn’t prove he was telling the truth, we stopped him from banging on your door and disturbing you. Do you know him?”
Olivia said, “Thank you for your help. He is my husband. Let him in.”
The guards looked at her with sympathetic expressions.
Dylan, with a gloomy expression, shoved past the guards and strode into the room.
He looked around, checking the bathroom and the closet. Then he walked over to the bed and pulled back the blanket to inspect the sheets. When he saw the clean bedding, his grim face finally eased a little.
“What are you looking for?” Olivia asked, frowning.
Dylan replied coldly, “I lost a watch last night. I was checking to see if you took it.”

Olivia gave a half–smile. “It must be a pricey watch to make you call me more than a hundred times and wait outside my door all night.”
Dylan’s expression didn’t change. “Chloe gave it to me. It’s not expensive, but to me, it’s priceless.”
Olivia found it boring. She let out a short laugh, grabbed her bag, and said as she walked out, “Fine. Take your time and look.”
“Where are you going?” Dylan reached out and grabbed her arm.
Olivia shook off his hand, clearly annoyed. “I’ll go wherever I want. You don’t get to tell me what to do. Go keep your mistress company.”
Dylan sneered, “Off to hook up with another random guy?”
Olivia shot back, “Even if I were heading off to sleep with an alien, it’s none of your business.”
Dylan gritted his teeth and reminded her, “Don’t forget, I’m paying you a hundred thousand dollars a day to stick around. If you walk off now, don’t expect a single cent.”
Olivia stopped walking. “Then send me the money from yesterday first.”
Without hesitation, Dylan transferred one hundred fifty thousand dollars to her right in front of her. “Behave yourself and stop pissing me off, and I’ll give you even more.”
“Thanks.” When Olivia saw the money hit her account, her mood instantly lifted.
She thought, ‘Good thing he cursed me out last night. Otherwise, I would’ve felt bad taking the money.
While Olivia was feeling pleased, Chloe was so mad that she was about to lose her mind.
Chloe thought, ‘Dylan actually gave Olivia that much money, and I never got a dime.
Back when Chloe first got involved with Dylan, she’d put on an air of being above money, just to make sure he didn’t think she was after his wealth.
The first time Dylan tried to give Chloe money, she’d acted offended and turned him down on purpose–just to impress him and make him think she had class. What she didn’t expect was that Dylan really would stop offering.
Ever since then, Dylan had never brought it up again, worried he’d be insulting her. All he did was buy her a few gifts now and then.
But since he believed Chloe didn’t care about money, the gifts were only mid–tier luxury–not the high–end kind.
Chloe was so furious she could hardly breathe. She thought, ‘Back then, when Dylan tried to give me money, I only pretended to turn it down to seem classy. Why did I actually reject it?
‘Fine, don’t give me money–but why give Olivia so much? That money is supposed to be part of our future marital assets. How could he let that wretch benefit from it?‘
“Sweetheart, forget about the watch. Let’s go out and look around. I’ll buy you a new one,” Chloe said, forcing down her anger. She walked gracefully over to Dylan and wrapped her arm around his, as if staking her claim.
Dylan had never lost any watch. It was just an excuse to check Olivia’s room for another man.
Chloe planned to use that excuse to coax Dylan out of the room–and maybe do some shopping herself.
Since she couldn’t get any cash, her plan was to buy more luxury goods and quietly resell them later for money. That was how Chloe had always done things over the years.
