“You bunch of useless people! Can’t even find someone this big!”
In Hunter’s office, he threw all the files on the desk onto his assistant.
Sheets of paper were scattered on the ground, filled with clues to Lena’s whereabouts, but no matter how hard they tried, the few people couldn’t find her.
The assistant spoke cautiously, “Ms. Steele indeed had no trace of activity since the day she was captured on surveillance leaving. She has not been found since.”
“Have you checked the airport and train station? Hunter’s veins bulged as he rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.
“I have searched, but for some reason all the information has been blocked and I can’t find anything at all.”
“Blocked?”

Upon hearing the assistant say this, he seemed to suddenly remember something.
When they were dating, Lena once half–jokingly said to him, “If you ever bully me in the future, I will go back to my parents and you will never be able to find me for the rest of your life.”

Remembering this, he suddenly realized and immediately asked his
assistant to find someone to investigate the situation in France.
A while later, the assistant indeed came running to report that Lena had indeed landed at the airport in France a few weeks ago.

“Damn it! Hunter slammed his fist down on the desk, causing the tea in the cup to spill out.”
“Get out of here, all of you!!”
That evening, he went to the bar with his friends, but did not join in their activities. Instead, he sat alone in a corner, getting drunk.
“Come on, Hunter, let’s drink together!”
Hunter, however, remained silent, quietly lit a cigarette, and smoked it with a bitter expression on his face.
Seeing him feeling down, the brothers couldn’t bear it and decided to call Eleanor over to comfort him.
One of them informed Eleanor of the news, and in less than half an hour,
Eleanor arrived.
“Hunter!”
When Eleanor arrived, Hunter was chugging a bottle of alcohol, and a few people beside him couldn’t stop him.
“Eleanor, you finally came!! Please, you need to talk some‘ sense into him!”
Eleanor snatched the bottle of wine away. “Hunter, stop drinking. Your body won’t be able to handle it if you keep drinking like this.”

Upon hearing the sound, Hunter instantly regained some of his senses.
“Get lost!”
Seeing his attitude, the brothers looked at each other in confusion, not knowing what was going on.
“What’s wrong, Hunter? This is Eleanor.”

“I don’t want to see this woman, tell her to get lost!”
Eleanor’s face changed, but she still kindly helped him up and whispered in his car, “Don’t be like this, Hunter. In the future, when Lena is not around, I will always be there for you.”
Upon hearing the sound, Hunter suddenly dropped the bottle, and the fragments scattered with a loud explosion.
Before anyone could react, Hunter grabbed Eleanor’s wrist and threw her onto the ground, causing her to cry out in pain from the force.
“I’ll say it one last time, get out of here.”
“Hunter! What are you doing? Someone tried to help Eleanor up, but was stopped by Hunter directly.”
His voice was as cold as ice, “Eleanor, I have already given you enough face. If you dare to appear in front of me again, I will make sure you can’t survive in this circle.”
The whole private room fell silent in an instant, and for a moment no one dared to speak.
Eleanor lay among the debris, her body cut and bloodied, a horrifying sight to behold.
In the astonished eyes of the crowd, she, ignoring the pain, struggled to stand up and left with tears in her eyes.
After she left, several people asked in confusion, “Hunter, what’s going on?”
“Yeah, didn’t you say that you fell in love with Eleanor and no one could bully her?”

“We have said it a long time ago! That fish seller is just a woman who loves vanity!”
“Hunter, it’s not me saying this, but when you decided to have a foot in both camps, you should have thought about this kind of consequence!”
“Lena, such a good person, was driven away by you like that. Sigh…
“Enough!! Hunter interrupted them, heartbroken and furious.”
He knew that it was useless to regret, but he kept numbing his brain with alcohol over and over again.
During these days, whenever he closed his eyes, Lena’s face filled his mind, her happiness, her pain, all of it lingering.
He remembered the time when he held Lena’s hand, swore in the church in Italy, and promised to love her forever. The image of Lena being moved to tears appeared in his mind, and it felt like a piece of his heart was being cut out with a knife.
“It’s all my fault…”
“I promised her at first, that if I ever let her down, she would go to France. I also promised her that I would never set foot in France again. I wanted to try to win back Lena, but I know that all of this is my fault. I’m afraid that even if I go, Lena won’t forgive me. What should I do? What should I do?”
They couldn’t bear to see their good brother feeling down, and after a moment, one of them quietly spoke up.
