Chapter 314
Chapter 314
“Audrey, I don’t want this bag anymore,” Lena said dejectedly. Yet she kept glancing at the bag—she truly loved it.
Sharon didn’t particularly like this bag. She had simply seen a picture of it on Lena’s Instagram, where many socialites and heiresses had praised the bag’s beauty or Lena’s good taste.
Sharon enjoyed stealing others‘ things. The environment around her had instilled in her the rule that taking something from someone proved she was
better than them.
Seeing Lena so torn, Sharon was thrilled. She feigned fairness and said, “Lena, you chose not to buy this bag. Don’t go telling your friends later that i stole it from you.”
Lena clenched her skirt in anger.
Audrey was a strong–willed person and wouldn’t let Talia’s family bully Lena. She held Lena’s hand, squeezing it gently, then said to the salesperson, “Fine.”
The salesperson immediately relaxed. She really didn’t want to be complained about, so Audrey’s concession was a relief. “You could look at this one. I’ll apply a 5% discount for you,” she said.
Audrey waved her hand. “Has your store manager still not come?” she asked.
The salesperson looked at Irene in confusion, then turned back to Audrey. “Don’t you want the bag anymore?”
she asked.
“We really don’t want this bag,” Audrey said. “She paid a deposit according to your store’s process, based on the price ratio of a new bag, not this second- hand one.”
“This isn’t a second–hand bag,” Sharon said crossly. For someone of her status, buying a second–hand bag would make her the laughingstock of high society. “It’s new; the salesperson just gave it to me.”
Audrey glanced at her hand. “Sorry, I assumed you only deserved to use things others had already used,” she said coolly.
“How dare you insult me?” Sharon tried to charge forward but was blocked by an arm.
She turned her head and first saw a man’s well–defined pectoral muscles, then his upright, serious face. She thought, ‘This man has an amazing body. His stance makes him look like he was in the military.‘
“Lena, is this the husband you found?” Sharon taunted Lena, though her eyes kept drifting to the man’s physique.
Irene frowned slightly. Sharon was about to marry her son and shouldn’t look at other men like that. She was annoyed but didn’t show it in front of
Audrey.
Hugo said coldly, “Watch your mouth.”
Sharon scoffed. “So you haven’t caught him yet? Lena, don’t brag about things you can’t do, or you’ll just end up humiliating yourself.” After speaking, she gently patted her face, her eyes full of provocation.
Lena snapped, “What did you say-”
“Lena,” Audrey interrupted. She turned to the salesperson and said, “If the store manager doesn’t come in one minute, I’ll file a complaint against this store with headquarters.”
The salesperson turned and ran to find the store manager. The manager, Gina Smith, was in her office. She hadn’t intervened.
knew there had been a dispute with Irene but
Partly, she thought the salesperson could handle it, and partly, she wanted to let Irene vent her anger. Hearing that Audrey was difficult to deal with, she finally came out with a cold expression.
Chapter 314
“Mrs. Price,” Gina said with a smile to Irene, “If it’s inconvenient for you to take the bag home, I can have someone deliver it.
Irene nodded slightly.
Gina turned to Audrey and said in a colder tone, “I’m the store manager. What do you need?”
“Your full name and employee number,” Audrey said,
Gina pursed her lips, disdain flashing in her eyes. “Gina Smith, employee number 2320.”
As she spoke, Audrey took out her phone and pressed several numbers. “The Market Supervision and Administration Bureau should handle your store’s
illegal sale of a customer’s reserved bag,” Audrey said.
“I suspect you’re selling one bag twice, which not only seriously infringes on customers‘ rights but also suggests fraud,” she added.
Gina panicked and hurriedly defended, “No, there must be a misunderstanding. We’ll definitely solve this for you; there’s no need to file a complaint
Audrey glanced at her. “Can you solve it?”
“Yes.” Gina nodded repeatedly.
Audrey also nodded, not making the complaint call but still holding her phone, waiting for Gina’s solution.
Gina whispered with the salesperson for a while, then gave Audrey a reply. “We’re sorry, but the bag has already gone through the selling process.”
“We have many new styles in the store. If you like any, I can apply an internal discount. If not, we can refund the deposit,” she said.
“So you admit that you sold the bag Ms. Whitlow reserved to another customer,” Audrey said.
Gina smiled, “If Ms. Whitlow’s willingness to buy it was strong enough, she wouldn’t come so late. Both sides are responsible here; let’s each take a step
back.”
Audrey said, “Her latest agreed time with your store is 23:55 today. Is your store going out of business now?”
Lena almost laughed out loud. Audrey’s tongue was now as sharp as Yann’s.
Gina was furious at the sarcasm but forced a smile. “Our brand is a top international brand; there’s no chance of going out of business. Please don’t make such jokes.”
Audrey said, “If every store manager like you breaks the rules and damages the company’s reputation, you won’t be far from closing down. When that happens, headquarters will definitely hold you accountable.”
Gina hadn’t expected Audrey to be so difficult. As a luxury store manager with many clients, she knew something about high society, but she didn’t recognize the woman in front of her.
Audrey was wearing loose, comfortable clothes and a pair of lambskin flats. Compared to Lena and Sharon’s elegant looks, she looked like a poor relative from a wealthy family.
But her words were incisive, and her attitude was aggressive–either she was ignorant and fearless of high–society power, or she had a more powerful background.
Gina instinctively looked at Irene, but Irene’s attention was on Sharon. Sharon raised her hand to brush the hair by her ear, deliberately revealing a diamond bracelet on her wrist.
A man willing to marry into Lena’s family must be greedy for her money, she thought. As long as she showed she was richer than Lena, she could make
this handsome man fall for her.
Not getting the information she needed from Irene, Gina had no choice but to say to Audrey, “What kind of bag do you like? I can recommend some. If you only want this one, I can order another for you.”

Audrey scoffed and said into her phone, “This store manager has no intention of repenting and is still trying to make the customer bear the loss. Prepare the indictment for me, it’s time to safeguard our rights.”
“The entire conversation has been recorded, and we’ve also intercepted the payment records from the website,” came Emilia’s voice on the phone.
“Earnest money is different from advance payment. The former one has the meaning of a contractual guarantee in law. This store has committed serious breaches of contract, fraudulent acts against consumers, and used its position for personal gain,” Emilia continued.
Gina was dumbfounded.
Audrey held up her phone. “This is my lawyer, one of the top lawyers at Samson Legal. She will represent Ms. Whitlow in safeguarding her rights and holding you accountable. Expect a lawyer’s letter.”
