After Maverick left, I felt drained and collapsed heavily onto the floor.
Esme quickly rushed over and helped me to a chair.

I weakly glanced at her. “Go ahead, say it.”

I pressed my lips together and glanced up toward the stairs.

“Mr. Stone finally had the courage to ask for a remarriage, although his approach was wrong, he does want to be with you again. Mrs. Stone, please think about it. I can tell you still love him.”

That night, I didn’t go home and stayed at her place.
