Chapter 22
Dakota walked while rolling up his sleeves to reveal the scars on his
body.
“This was done by Damien, he was trying to kill me!”
Dakota clearly explained how Damien deceived Norah while maintaining a romantic relationship with her.

When she became emotional, tears streamed down her face. “I admit I’m not a good woman. I just wanted to find a home for my daughter, but Damien was so heartless!”
Damien was furious, like a wild beast losing its mind.
He rushed off the stage and grabbed Dakota by the neck, “You bitch, go
die!”
At that moment, a group of police officers rushed in and restrained Damien.
“Damien, you are suspected of attempted murder, and we are arresting you according to the law.”
At the same time, Dakota was also arrested. “There is evidence to suggest that you intentionally poisoned someone. Come with us,” they said.
Dakota stared at Stephen in disbelief, her eyes wide open.
Stephen picked up a tall glass from the table and raised it to her in a toast.
He had long said that he was never a soft–hearted person.

Before turning away, Damien screamed at his back, “Stephen! I have no grudge against you, why do you want to harm me?”
“Next, let’s welcome our bride of the day – Norah!”
The door of the banquet hall slowly opened, and a beam of light shone
down.
The wedding march played as Norah walked towards Stephen, holding a bouquet of flowers.
This was Norah’s second time dressing up, the previous time she had failed miserably.
And this time, she also didn’t have much confidence in being happy.
At that moment, she even wanted to turn around and run away.
On the stage, Stephen nervously curled his fingers.
“Norah!”
Under the stage, Norah’s parents were looking at her with tears in their
eyes.
Sitting at the same table with them were relatives of the Xander family,
Norah’s classmates and best friends.
They waved to her and said “Congratulations” with their mouths.
Norah stood still in astonishment, tears streaming down her face.
The host was about to urge her when Stephen reached out and interrupted.
Stephen straightened his bow tie and walked confidently towards his bride.

“Norah, I know you had a lot of concerns, but I want to tell you, you can rest assured.”
Norah looked up at Stephen, who had a sincere expression on his face.
In front of my eyes appeared the white–clad young man who used to wait for her at the school gate every day after school when she was in high
school.
Still, holding her hand, she was chased by a group of delinquents from outside the school; hiding in a narrow alley with their breath close at
hand.
The young and tender face gradually overlapped with the Stephen in front of him.
Norah had to believe that phrase: the right people will eventually end up together.
She had briefly strayed to a fork in the road, but Stephen took her hand and guided her back on track step by step.
“My parents… and my friend…”
Stephen gently wiped away her tears, “How could your uncle and aunt really be mad at you? They have always loved you. And your friends, they were so happy to hear that you’re back.”
Stephen tightly held her hand and led her to the center of the stage.
He took the microphone and said, “Thank you all for coming to Norah’s wedding. I want to say to my wife here-”
Stephen turned to Norah, took hold of her hands, and looked into her
eyes.
“Norah, I am so lucky to have married you in this lifetime.”

“I want to thank you for giving me the ability to love! I love you, Norah!”
Deafening applause erupted from the audience, followed by cheers from Norah and Stephen’s friends: “Kiss, kiss!”
Stephen’s face turned red to the roots of his cars in an instant.
He stuttered, “Norah, they, I…”
Seeing him like this, Norah couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Before he could react, she tiptoed and kissed his lips.
The secretary stood in a corner of the stage, looking helplessly at the cowardly appearance of their own CEO, and sighed.
“Dating is like being robbed of your home, and getting married doesn’t mean you become a slave to your husband. Oh, my domineering CEO, never to return again.”
The bridal chamber naturally did not make any noise, and the wedding had not yet ended when Stephen pulled Norah into the dark corner of the office.
I stayed at home for three whole days without going out.
Damien was sentenced, and Norah went to visit him in prison.
The once spirited and talented young man has fallen into a prisoner at the bottom of the social ladder.
The Harvick Group has been acquired by Stephen, and the small amount of shares he held was not even enough to cover the fine.
The house and car under his name were both confiscated, owing the bank tens of millions.

Chapter 22
He saw Norah and regretted so much that tears flowed from his eyes.
“Norah, I’m sorry, can you forgive me?”
Norah held the microphone, her tone calm.
“Damien, I forgive you. Not because I still have feelings for you, but because I no longer care about the things that happened in the past.”
Damien cried with snot running down his nose, “Norah, Dakota and I have already divorced, can you…”
Norah stood up and took out her wedding photo with Stephen, placing it on the glass.
“I finally found out what a real marriage certificate looks like. Goodbye.”
Norah turned around gracefully, while Damien desperately pounded on the glass behind her, being pressed against the wall by the police behind
him.
Stephen leaned against the car door and shook the ice cream in his hand
when he saw Norah.
“The taro flavor you loved the most.”
“Let’s go, my dear wife, let’s go eat Japanese food!”
Norah looked up, the sunshine was really nice.
