Lina looked at the snow outside the window, her mind completely blank. These days, she had told Tammy a lot about her own affairs, from discovering Eric’s affair to leaving him completely. When she said those words, she felt no sadness, as if she was telling someone else’s story. Tammy knew she had let go, but she still hesitated to speak. She wanted to advise Lina, but she knew that the current Lina had no expectations for Eric anymore.
“Lina, Eric is coming, the plane is tomorrow afternoon, he will probably find us in a few days, do you want to see him?”
Lina chuckled self–deprecatingly and shook her head.
“Tammy, it’s too cold here. Shall we go somewhere warmer?”
Lina never wanted to see Eric again. She didn’t want to hear his explanations and apologies. It was midsummer in Australia at that time, and Tammy hadn’t traveled for a long time. They booked the next flight, and before Eric even landed, they were on a plane, to Australia.
As soon as Eric got out of the airport, he couldn’t wait to rush to where Tammy lived. He pulled a lot of strings and finally found Tammy’s address. She was in a small town, running a bakery. Without a doubt, Lina must be with her.
Eric only freshened up briefly on the plane. By now, he was already exhausted. In just a few days, his eye sockets had sunken and his eyes were lifeless. The thought of seeing Lina soon seemed to give him a bit of energy. His assistant was with him the whole time, and he had never seen Eric so worn out. “Why is it so slow? Isn’t the airport nearby?”
Eric anxiously urged his assistant, the closer he got to Lina, the more nervous he became. He wanted to see her, yet he was afraid to see her. He felt like he was about to go crazy. He only knew that he loved Lina, but he didn’t know that his love far exceeded his imagination. He would rather die than lose Lina.
Upon arrival, Eric rushed out of the car without hesitation. He
searched for Tammy’s shop on that long street. Although his assistant had prepared a strategy in advance, it still took him a while to find the right location. With eager anticipation, Eric pushed open the shop door, only to be greeted by a foreign unfamiliar face.
“Is there anything I can help with?”
Eric looked around and didn’t see Tammy or Lina’s figure. They were not in the store, so they should be at home. He asked the store clerk where Tammy lived. The clerk gave him the address but told him that Tammy was not in Switzerland.
“What do you mean? Where did she go?”
The shop assistant shrugged, indicating that he didn’t know. Eric, however, was not giving up. He eventually found Tammy’s residence and knocked on the door for a long time, but no one answered. Unable to hold back any longer, he sat in the snow, feeling helpless and crying. Is Lina avoiding him? He had already planned how to explain, how to apologize, but did she know he was coming and left early? He really wanted to ask her, could she give him another chance, whether to hit or scold him, could she please not let him not see her?
No one replied to his question, the assistant could only accompany him

until late at night, Eric fell ill in Switzerland, he had a fever for three days and three nights, in a daze, he saw Lina by his side, asking him why he didn’t take care of himself, but when he struggled to open his eyes, all he saw was the assistant.
“Boss, you have been in a coma for three days, you finally woke up.”
Eric didn’t care about his body. He pulled out the needle and ran outside in a panic. It had been three days. Shouldn’t Lina have come back by now? He dreamed of her. She must be reluctant to leave him alone here, sick. She must be waiting for him to come find her, just
like he missed her.
Eric first went to their residence, then to the bakery, but just like three days ago, he didn’t see a trace of Lina and Tammy.
He silently mocked himself, “Eric, it’s all your own doing. You are the one who let Lina down. How can you expect her to forgive you? She is so fed up with you that she keeps avoiding you. She is determined and doesn’t want you anymore.”
Eric was called back to his home country by his father, Jayce Absom, because something happened there.
