Seraphina immediately relaxed.]
Before she could catch her breath, she saw that Zayden seemed ready to argue back–and immediately tugged his sleeve.[]
“It’s fine, Zayden. I actually want to talk with Mr. Monroe too. After all, some things shouldn’t be hidden.“]
Dorian’s icy gaze flickered. Then replaced by a subtle warmth.]
He glanced at his protective younger brother.[]
“Regarding your divorce from Cassian Blake, the information I received is that he doesn’t plan to settle privately. I’ve already contacted a legal team. I’ll personally oversee this lawsuit, so you don’t need to worry. Once you’ve got the final papers, Mom and Dad expect you to host a proper engagement ceremony.“]
“That’s all you wanted to say?“]
Faced with his younger brother’s questioning, Dorian nodded and turned around.[]
Seraphina never expected things to develop in this direction]

He’s famously soft hearted; my sister in law has him so whipped he wouldn’t dare go west if she said east. And my parents retired and like peace and quiet, so they don’t like talking much in noisy situations like this…“]
Over the next couple of weeks, Seraphina slowly adapted to life in the Monroe household.[]
She could feel that the Monroe family genuinely cared for her and sincerely blessed her relationship with Zayden.]
By the time November rolled around, cold air swept in. The weather forecast predicted Chicago would have its first big snowfall by the end of the month.

“My brother said it should be resolved by early next month. But your parents… they might not accept their daughter marrying someone five years younger, so we need to hurry up and do some persuasion work on them.“[]
“You have a point. What if they don’t agree?“]
“Then you’ll just have to hype me up. Tell them how amazing I am. Eventually, they’ll come around…”
