Chapter 28%
“We graduated from the same university. My father was a friend of your advisor.”}]
“That year, people ostracized me because I was the advisor’s son.“@
“When no one wanted to partner with me on a project, you were the one who reached out and pulled me in.”
I pushed Lincoln away, feeling a bit lost. There was such a person in my memory.
But at the time, I didn’t know who he was. I just felt a little sorry for him and also had some thoughts of making Maxwell jealous.}
So, I directly pulled him into our group.
I didn’t have a strong impression of that person, so when I met Lincoln, it never crossed my mind that he was the one I had helped back
then.
Seeing me lost in thought, Lincoln gave a helpless smile.
“Back then, I was struggling with depression and was about to drop out of school.”
“But you reached out and gave me a little hope.”
“I knew your heart only belonged to that person from the Fergusons, so I never bothered you.”
Several vague figures overlap in my mind.}]
The kind person who held an umbrella for me in the rain.}
The person who brought me clothes when Maxwell ordered me to kneel outside the hotel.
The kind person in the hospital who helped me get medicine.
These blurry figures seemed to have always been watching over me.}
From the moment ! decided to give up my studies and be with Maxwell until my divorce from Simon.* –
I looked up at Lincoln, tears welling up and streaming down my face.
“I’m sorry.”
I trembled as I grabbed his clothes, my head lowered deeply.}]
“Suzanne, I’m the one who’s late.” Lincoln gently wiped away my tears, patting my shoulder comfortingly.”
After returning to the country, I devoted myself wholeheartedly to my career. I became the chief designer of a leading domestic enterprise within a few short years.
Therefore, Lincoln had always diligently played the role of a “suitor.”
He was always responsive to my needs and after a tiring day, he would prepare meals for me in advance.
Although I hadn’t yet accepted his pursuit, I had already decided about him in my heart.
On my twenty–eighth birthday, Lincoln filled an aerial restaurant with daisies.
Smiling, he took a ring from his pocket and carefully placed it on my middle finger.”
My eyes felt a little sore. Having been entangled with the Ferguson brothers for nearly twenty years, they had never known that my favourite flower was the daisy.}
Living in a corner but still blooming.”
Unfortunately, they didn’t understand what I loved, let alone understand me.
And this insignificant preference was actually remembered by Lincoln, who hadn’t even known me for very long.”
“Suzanne, can you be with me?”
I chuckled as I looked at him.}
With such a grand display, I thought he would propose, but it turned out to be a confession.
Hearing my teasing, Lincoln looked at me seriously.}]
“You have been hurt, so you won’t give your heart away so easily.”
“Only after I become your boyfriend can I accept the test of becoming your fiancé.”
I chuckled softly, my voice filled with a happiness I had never felt before.
“Congratulations, you’ve been officially promoted, my boyfriend.“”
He excitedly hugged me as if holding a fragile treasure.
I was surprised to find the Ferguson brothers sitting in the audience on my wedding day.
My face turned cold and just as I was about to ask someone to kick them out, Simon and Maxwell walked up to me.
“Suzanne, happy wedding.“%
“Suzanne, in the end, you chose someone like this.”
Simon glared at Maxwell, signalling him to shut up. Then, he turned to me and looked at my wedding dress with smiley face.
I felt his lingering gaze and stepped back, feeling a little disgusted.
Simon noticed my movement and his smile froze on his face.%
“Suzanne, you look so beautiful in your wedding dress.”
I completely lost my patience to talk to him and gestured for the security guards to escort them out.
