Katie saw the expression in Melvin’s eyes and gave a slight frown.
At that moment, her second brother, Eddie, called her.

A sense of unease settled in Katie’s chest. She was about to deny it, but the loud cheers and screams from the crowd made her answer unclear.
“Katie, Clifford and I have some urgent business at the company and can’t attend the competition. Today’s competition is really important for Melvin. Please join the team and support him. Regardless of past disagreements, we should stand together when things get tough, don’t you think?”
As Katie listened to his words, the surrounding noise of the fans faded away,
Her quietness became almost overwhelming.
Without saying another word, she ended the call.
She was here for entertainment, not to compete.
On stage, Melvin waited for a while, but Katie didn’t go to the backstage, which left him feeling frustrated.
With a serious expression, he demanded, “What does Katie mean by this? Is she expecting me to go down and personally ask her?”
Sally’s eyes twinkled with a touch of amusement. “Melvin, let me send a message to check with Katie. But since she’s sitting in the audience. I’m guessing she’s still upset. If she weren’t, she’d have come backstage to see you by now, like she usually
would”
Melvin thought back to the old Katie. He didn’t need to say a word and she would already know what he needed.
He had grown accustomed to her dedication..
But now, she seemed like a completely different person.
Melvin spoke awkwardly, “Call her. If she decides to join the competition, I won’t bring up what happened before. I’ll treat her like I did before, like a sister,”
What occurred at school was his fault for acting too rashly. If Katie was willing to let things go, he was ready to move on as well
Everything could go back to how it was.
Sally’s eyes tightened slightly, forcing herself to say, “Alright, I’ll call her now. I’m sure she’ll come for your sake.”
Melvin’s expression softened a bit.
Sally moved aside to make the call, her gaze lingering on Katie in the audience, her eyes dark and unreadable.
Katie saw the caller ID and noticed Sally on stage.
She didn’t need to guess what Sally wanted to talk to her about.
Without hesitation, she rejected the call, her face showing no emotion as she stared at the stage. O
After the call was hung up on, Sally stared at Katie in surprise, but a smirk quickly appeared on her face. This was perfect. She had no intention of wasting her time.
She didn’t actually want Katie to join the competition and overshadow her.
She wanted Katie to witness firsthand that she and Melvin would undoubtedly win the competition.

There was no need for Katie to get involved
Sally returned to Melvin’s side, her eyes red with a hint of sadness as she said, “Melvin, it’s probably my fault. Katie must not like me, that’s why she didn’t answer my call. Should I go talk to her in person?”
Melvin’s face turned pale with frustration. “No need for that. Eddie told me he also tried calling Katie but got hung up on. That means she never intended to join the team for the competition. Don’t go looking for her.”
“Melvin, I’m sure Katie isn’t that kind of person. She wouldn’t just come to watch us fail, Sally responded.
“Hmph, we’ll definitely win this match and show her that she can’t have things her way.”
Melvin put on his headphones, turning his attention away from the audience below.
Sally couldn’t help but feel a sense of triumpli Katie, we won once more.
The competition quickly got underway.
MadSky Team versus HighPeak Team.
Katie watched the live commentary on the big screen. At the start, Melvin, playing as an assassin, took the lead in setting up
an ambush for the team.
However, it was clear that the opponents had anticipated his tactics and had planned a baiting strategy.
In her previous life, she thought the opponents were captured too easily and suspected something was off. She warned. Melvin to be more careful and not to charge in recklessly.
At that moment, Melvin harshly criticized her.
In the end, he went with someone else to check the situation, only to fall into a trap set by
by the Hip
HighPeak Team.
It was she who led the rest of the team to rush in and save the day, eventually launching a surprise attack on the enemy’s base.
In this life, she was curious to see what choice Melvin would make without her guidance.
As expected, Melvin made the same decision as before, leading the entire team straight into the enemy’s trap.
Upoos seeing this familiar scene, Katie couldn’t help but smile.
Just as she thought!
Soon, Melvin realized he had walked right into a trap, but it was already too late.
The team’s rhythm was completely thrown off, and Sally, panicking, kept making mistakes, almost putting her teammates in danger.
Melvin led everyone to fall back to a nearby building.
Unable to hold back his frustration, he shouted, “Sally, where’s your brain? Didn’t we agree to retreat completely? Why did you go off fighting, trying to show off?”
Sally was on the edge of losing it. “Melvin, I couldn’t stand it. When I saw that enemy with low health. I just had to go and
nish them off.”
Melvin scoffed. “It’s more like handing over your own head. If you were so sure of your abilities, you wouldn’t have fallen into that trap, causing all of us to get ambushed.
Sally, feeling humiliated, shot back, “If it wasn’t for you falling into the trap and trapping us all, how could this have, happened?”
Melvin, now furious, retorted, “How dare you blame me? It’s your incompetence that dragged us down. After all that training. you haven’t improved at all, just wasting our time!”
Sally’s face shifted like a color palette, and in her fury, she stormed out of her seat.

The entire venue was immediately thrown into an uproar.
After all, during a competition, a team member leaving like this had a significant impact on the game.
The big screen also focused on the MadSky Team, with Melvin’s grim expression standing out particularly.
Melvin had no choice but to call for a timeout.
Each match allowed for one timeout.
The opposing fans started murmuring, already offering their early congratulations.
Melvin slammed his fist onto the keyboard with a cold expression, clearly enraged.
He hadn’t expected Sally to dare throw a tantrum and leave.

The members of the opposing team stood up, mocking him. “I say, Melvin, why don’t you just surrender already? That way, you won’t be humiliated too badly later. Save yourself from being completely crushed, and at least maintain some dignity.”
Melvin jumped up angrily. I won’t surrender! You’re probably just scared of losing, which is why you’re talking like this, right?”
“Melvin, even someone with a sharp eye can tell you’ve already lost this match, and now one of your teammates is leaving. Didn’t you always claim that your team is a family team and you’d never lose?”
“What family team? It’s just a bunch of kids left behind after their parents passed away. What’s so impressive about that? Gaming isn’t about who has the most children!”
Melvin’s temper boiled over, and he was about to charge forward. “Watch your mouth, d*mn it!”
“What’s wrong? Isn’t this what you were saying? Go ahead and try to make a move. A useless guy with no one to care for you. If your parents were still alive, they’d probably die of anger watching your performance!”
Upon hearing those words, Katie’s expression darkened, her eyes burning with anger.
How dare they insuli my parents?
Without hesitation, she made her way to the backstage.
Meanwhile, Melvin was pulled back by his teammates to avoid a confrontation in front of the audience, knowing it would only make things worse.
