“Speak.” Ethan Sullivan’s voice was icy.

“No! She’s still my sister—how could I harm her?!”

Ethan’s eyes darkened. “The evidence is clear. Lily White may be the face of it, but digging deeper…” He paused. “Last chance. Was it you?”

Isabella Jackson’s breathing grew ragged. After a long silence, she suddenly laughed. “Yes, it was me!”

“Every time I saw you two together, I went mad with jealousy!” Her voice cracked. “Do I disgust you?”

“Never again.” His tone could freeze hell. “Don’t ruin what little goodwill I have left for you.”

The call ended. Ethan yanked his tie loose, frustration simmering. The MY acquisition needed to accelerate. Once he handed the company to Isabella, he’d ensure she never got close to him again.

The next morning, Evelyn Sullivan had just finished washing up when her phone rang.

“Evelyn, you’re awake?” William Jackson’s voice was tentative.

“What do you want?”

“We didn’t get to talk properly at your grandfather’s birthday… Come to the family dinner tonight? Your grandmother made your favorite dishes.”

Evelyn instantly understood the ploy. Too bad she wouldn’t play along.

“I’m busy.”

“But you’re home—”

“I got a job. Can’t be late.” She hung up.

William stared at his phone, stunned.

“Well?” Victoria Farley approached, scowling.

“She said she’s working.”

Victoria sneered. “What decent job could she possibly have? Washing dishes or sweeping streets? She’ll humiliate us!”

“Enough!”

“If Ethan Sullivan weren’t crippled, would she have ever married into the Sullivans?” Victoria spat. “A high school dropout. Every time Eleanor Jackson brings her up, I want to disappear!”

“She’s your daughter!”

“Isabella is my only child!” Victoria slammed the door behind her.

Rubbing his temples, William called his assistant. “Find out where Evelyn is working.”

10 AM, MY Fashion Group’s executive conference room.

Tyler Laurier slammed a file onto the table. “Evelyn, my entire department was gutted! Suppliers are hounding us for shipments. My team has worked two weeks straight—now they’re all quitting!”

His bloodshot eyes burned. “This is on you.”
