He looked like he was going to collapse from the shock. He rushed in, took off his coat, and wrapped it around me protectively.2 “You’re safe now,” he whispered, voice trembling. “Daddy’s here. Daddy’s here.“}
Then he turned and roared at the guards and butler behind him. “Call the family doctor now! Have him check on Melody immediately!” “Also, lock up these people and confiscate every single phone they have!” His voice cracked with fury.”
Now that he was here, I didn’t have to stay strong anymore. I broke down and cried.

My dad had always been a total girl dad. After I was born, he couldn’t bear the thought of my mom going through another pregnancy or of having another child who might take even a sliver of his love away from me. So he made the decision early on to get a vasectomy.”

And if I somehow stayed, clinging to my place at home, they thought the public scandal would disgust my father enough to turn him against me.

The two thugs who had just been all over me crumbled the second they saw the bodyguards storm in. Their legs gave out, and they dropped to the floor crying.
“This is all a big misunderstanding!” one of them wailed. “We didn’t do anything! This girl and her father gave us a few grand and told us we’d be spending the day with a woman. That’s all we knew!“}
“Yeah, please, sir,” the other one begged my dad. “Have mercy. We didn’t know what we were walking into.”
My dad was shaking with rage. “You dare-” he started, but didn’t get to finish.
Karrie dropped to her knees with a loud thud. “Dad, I’m your daughter! How can you punish me over this fake one?”

Then, Karrie suddenly burst into tears, her tone full of resentment. “She stole my entire life. She’s been living in luxury, while I’ve suffered
endlessly. What’s wrong with making her pay just a little bit for what she’s taken from me?“N
My dad clenched his fists, visibly trying to stop himself from lashing out. He stared at Karrie for a long moment, struggling to remember
her name.”
“You’re… Carley… Carley Goodwin, right? One of the poor students I sponsored? You came here, brought people to hurt my daughter, and now you’re spewing this nonsense about being my child? Since when? How come I don’t know I supposedly have a daughter like you?“} Karrie’s face darkened. “Dad, it’s Karrie. Look, here’s the DNA test. I’m not making it up!”
But my dad didn’t even bother to look at the papers. He knew better than anyone how many children he had and who they were. His face turned colder, and his voice was sharp with impatience.”
“So you’re the one who brought those men here? You’re the one who hurt Melody?”
Karrie didn’t know how to answer. She hesitated, unsure whether admitting it would make things worse. She was afraid that if she took the blame, my dad would see her as a villain. So she quickly turned to Alvin and Damon for help.
Alvin caught her look and instantly stepped in.
“No, no. It was me,” he said quickly. “I’m the one who brought them. I’m Melody’s biological father. I just wanted to take her home with me. I didn’t want her presence to ruin Karrie’s reunion with you, boss.”M
