Hearing Grayson’s question, everyone in the corridor looked at me in complete shock. Their eyes were wide with disbelief.
I could feel the power of Alpha blood surging through my veins like liquid fire. The innate desire for dominance and leadership made my wolf howl excitedly deep within my chest.
This was what I was meant to be. What I had always been, before the poisoning suppressed my
true nature.
I slowly turned to face Ethan, looking at the man who had once made me beg humbly for his attention and love.
A cold sneer appeared at the corner of my lips.
“I accept,” I said, my voice calm but carrying unquestionable majesty.
Ethan’s face turned pale in an instant. He shook his head frantically, unable to process what he was hearing.
“Impossible!” he gasped, his voice cracking with disbelief. “Emma, you are just a Beta-”
“Beta?” I interrupted him sharply.
Without warning, I released the Alpha pressure that had just awakened within me.
The atmosphere in the entire prison became crushingly heavy in an instant. Even the seasoned guards couldn’t help but bow their heads in automatic submission.
“Open your eyes and take a good look, Ethan,” I said with deadly calm. “I have never been a Beta. My Alpha aura surged toward Ethan like an unstoppable tide. His wolf trembled violently under my pressure, every instinct screaming at him to surrender and bare his throat.
This humiliation he had never experienced before made him shake with rage. He forcibly suppressed his wolf’s instinctive reaction to submit.
“Then let’s solve this problem according to the ancient law of the wolf pack,” I said, taking a step forward.
My voice echoed throughout the prison, carrying absolute authority.
“Ethan, I challenge you as an Alpha. The winner will become the true leader of this pack.”
I paused dramatically, letting my eyes sweep over Scarlett who was trembling in the corner like a broken doll.
“And the loser will lose everything.”
Scarlett completely collapsed when she heard my words. Her face went white as she realized the implications.
If Ethan lost this challenge, she would no longer have anyone to protect her from the consequences of her actions.
“Brother, you can’t lose!” she screamed hysterically, her voice echoing off the stone walls. “You must not lose to her!”
Ethan stared at me with growing horror, his mouth opening and closing soundlessly.
“Impossible…” he muttered to himself, backing away instinctively. “How can you be so strong…”

I didn’t give him more time to process what was happening.
My body shifted seamlessly into wolf form as I launched myself at him. My silver–white figure rushed toward him like lightning, so fast that all the spectators gasped in shock.
My claws found their target with deadly precision, raking across his left shoulder. Blood instantly dyed his gray fur bright red.
Ethan howled in pain and surprise, but he didn’t fight back immediately. Instead, he tried to retreat and put distance between us.
“Emma! Stop!” he pleaded desperately, dodging my next attack. “We don’t need to do this!”
His panicked voice reached me through our mind link.
“I know I’ve let you down before, but we can start over! I’ll make it up to you, I’ll give you everything you want!”
My response was to attack even more viciously.
My teeth sank deep into his right leg and I pulled hard, using all my newfound strength. Ethan crashed to the ground with a scream of agony.
All the anger, humiliation, and pain I had accumulated over eight years burst out at this moment. I wanted him to experience the feeling of being trampled underfoot.
As his blood flowed more freely and he felt the ruthless intensity of my attacks, Ethan finally realized I was completely serious.
This wasn’t some emotional outburst that would pass. This was judgment day.
Anger and humiliation made him explode with desperate fury.
“Since you insist on doing this, don’t blame me for being rude!” Ethan roared, his wolf eyes flashing blood red.
He began to fight back in earnest, using his larger size and weight advantage to try to pin me down. His sharp claws swung toward my neck with deadly intent.
But I easily dodged his clumsy attack.
The body that had been suppressed by poisonous herbs for so many years had become exponentially stronger after being thoroughly purified.
My speed, strength, and reflexes were far superior to what they had been before. Every move made was full of deadly grace and precision.
The battle entered a white–hot stage as we rolled and clashed throughout the prison corridor. The collision of claws and teeth echoed violently through the confined space.
But anyone watching could see this wasn’t an evenly matched fight at all. I had complete dominance.
Every attack Ethan launched was easily deflected or avoided. Every blow I delivered left fresh scars across his body.
His movements became slower and more labored with each passing moment. His breathing grew ragged and desperate.
The anger in his eyes was gradually being replaced by genuine fear as he realized he was outmatched.

Finally, after one particularly fierce collision, I struck Ethan’s chest with my claws. The tremendous force sent him flying backward into the prison wall.
He slid to the ground in a heap, trying desperately to struggle back to his feet. But I had already pinned him down, my paw pressing firmly against his throat.
The winner was decided.
I shifted back to human form and looked down at Ethan lying defeated on the cold stone floor.
He also returned to human form, his face pale as death. Blood oozed from multiple wounds. across his body, staining his torn clothes crimson.
He pressed his hands against the deepest gash on his chest, his eyes filled with complete
disbelief.
“Little wolf…” he murmured weakly, his voice carrying both despair and pathetic attachment. “We… we shouldn’t be like this…”
I looked at him with complete indifference, feeling no emotional response whatsoever. This man who had once consumed my thoughts and haunted my dreams was now nothing more than a failed opponent in my eyes.
Without another word, I turned my back on him and walked out of the prison.
In the distance, I could feel the entire pack responding to my Alpha presence. Every wolf was prostrating themselves on the ground, expressing absolute submission to their new leader.
Their new Alpha had been born, and the old era had completely ended.
