Valene, knowing that Clayton had gone to the courthouse and assuming that a divorce was inevitable and that she would soon marry Clayton, took the initiative to comfort Alexa.
Seddenly, Alexa remembered that it was Valerie who had meddled and called the police, leading to the police showing up at their door
it hadn’t been for Valene, things wouldn’t have escalated so badly. Once the truth came out, they could have simply paid Audrey off to keep her quiet. But now, with the situation blown out of proportion, Riley would have to pay a heavy price.
Without a word, Aleva slapped Valerie,
“Ah! Alexa, why did you hit me?” Valerie said.
“Who do you think you are? A divorced woman with a daughter? Do you even deserve to speak to me?” Alexa said.

“Mrs. Patel?” Valorie looked at Lillian with tearful eyes, hoping for some support.

Like Alexa, Lillian also blamed Valerie for acting on her own, but she was better at pretending. “Valerie, Riley is still inside. Alexa is in a bad mood. You

‘Understand? I’ve been slapped for no reason, and she wants me to understand Alexa? This old witch praises me to the skies in public, subtly saying I’m better than Audrey and regrets that Clayton didn’t many me, but now she expects me to swallow my grievances?‘ Valerie thought to herself,
Valerie despised these hypocritical members of the Patel family, but on the surface, she remained meek, innocent, gentle, and obedient.
“I’m sorry, it’s all my fault, I called the police because I was afraid Audrey would hurt you in a fit of desperation. She’s always been underhanded. What if she decided to take us all down with her?” Valerie explained.
Valerie secretly observed Alexa’s reaction and slowly edged closer to her. “Alexa, when I heard that Audrey dragged Riley into this, I was so upset. Riley is
just a child. How could Audrey be so vicious?”
Alexa glared at Valerie fiercely
Valene continued, “Maybe it’s because Riley helped me deal with Audrey that she holds a grudge against Riley. If I had known Audrey was so vengeful, I would rather have borne all this alone than complained to Riley.”
“Riley stood up for you?” Alexa zeroed in on the key point, closing in on Valerie,
“Mrs. Patel, doesn’t Alexa know?” Valerio looked at jillian weakly
Lillian avoided her gaze. She had only told Alexa that Audrey had hit Riley, without mentioning that Riley had provoked Audrey “it’s all in the past now.

Whhy bring it up again!”
“I’m sorry. Alexa, just forget what I just said,” Valerie said, looking toward the entrance. “Clayton should be back soon.”
Alexa suddenly grabbed Valeh by the collar so hard that she almost lifted her off the ground. “Explain. What really happened? Why did Riley stand up for you?”
“Mrs. Patel, help me.” Valesie tried her old trick again, pretending to be pushed by Alexa and taking the opportunity to break her not–fully–healed finger.
Clayton will be heartbroken for me, and in order to get my forgiveness for the familly, he will naturally marry me she thought. She feigned pain while backing away.
Valerie was almost at the stairway when she suddenly pushed Mexa away. “Alexa, don’t push me,”
Alexa realized she had been tricked and quickly grabbed Valerie’s sleeve. Valerie didn’t fall, but Alexa, losing her balance, tumbled down the stairs.
By the time Wyatt arrived at the hospital, Alexa had just been wheeled out of the operating room. The baby hadn’t survived.
As soon as Alexa woke up, she clutched her husband and tearfully explained that Audrey’s grudge against Riley had been instigated by Valerie
“Clayton, I didn’t know Alexa was pregnant,” Valerie said, clutching Clayton’s arm and showing him her swollen check. “I hadn’t dodged when she hit me, none of this would have happened. I really didn’t mean to:
*I hit you because you were asking for it,” Alexa shouted in anger.
Valerie wasn’t as weak and pitiful as she appeared. She was cunning and manipulative. The breakdown of Clayton and Audrey’s marriage was all thanks
to her.
“It was my fault for talking too much,” Valerie said, going along with Alexa’s words. “Tonly called the police because I was afraid Audrey would go too far. Inever expected she would drag innocent Riley into this.”
Clayton was already on edge from the divorce and hadn’t anticipated that the conflict between Alexa and Valerie would lead to Alexa’s miscarriage.
“Alexa, Vally didn’t know you were pregnant. It wasn’t intentional. You need to rest. Vally hurt her finger when she tried to pull you. I’ll take her to see a doctor, Clayton said.
Valerie, clinging to Clayton’s arm, glanced at Alexa with a flash of triumph in her eyes as they walked to the door.
Alexa gritted her teeth at Valerie’s provocative look. “She pulled me? i was the one who grabbed her. What’s wrong with Clayton, letting himself beled around by this woman?”
Wyatt, watching the scene with a cold eye, sat by his wife’s bedside. “What really happened?”
Clayton found Carson and got some medicine for Valerie. Carson pulled Clayton aside. “You divorced Audrey?”
Clayton’s eyes darkened, and he instinctively denied it. “No”
Carson took out his phone, and Clayton saw Audrey’s latest Instagram post: Away from the scum, enjoying a better life. with a picture of the divorce certificate.
Clayton nearly crushed his phone screen. She was so eager to announce to the world that she left me? Was all that time we spent together, all the care and attention, just take?‘ he thought
Carson quickly rescued his now phone and glanced at Valerie before lowering his voice. “Are you going to marry Valerie?”
“The divorce isn’t final yet. It’s not real” Clayton said, not answering the question directly but effectively answering it. “I’ll win her back.”

Valerie’s hand was clenched so tightly that her fingernails loft marks in her palm, “Why? Audrey had always targeted the Patel family, but Clayton still wants to get her back? Now that they’re divorced, I won’t give him the chance, she thought.
“Clayton,” Valerie looked at him weakly. “My hand is dislocated. Could you take me to pick up Luna?”
Carson wanted to war Clayton but saw him walk over to Valerie and swallowed his words.
The next day, Audrey reported to Stride Commerce. During her three days off, someone had dug up the reason for her departure from her previous job, violent tendencies and intentional barm.
No one wanted to work with someone like that. So, when she walked into the company, everyone avoided her. The secretaries in her department saw her and quickly left
