I frowned as I watched Mara from across the clearing.
Something didn’t feel right. In her condition, she shouldn’t have come all the way here. Traveling this far while heavily pregnant was dangerous, yet here she was, standing beside Ronan like she belonged. What was she planning?
More importantly, why did Ronan let her come?
Shaking my head, I looked away, telling myself not to care. Whatever they were here for had nothing to do with me anymore. I had moved on, hadn’t 178
After the first day, the council exchange went on without problems. The packs came together as planned, sharing their knowledge and discussing alliances. I learned so much things I never knew existed within werewolf politics.
Valor didn’t keep anything from me. He included me in conversations and even introduced me to several visiting alphas and betas. When one of the council leaders jokingly asked if they would be invited to our bond ceremony, Valor answered without hesitation, “Of course. She’s the future Luna of this pack.”
He looked at me then, pride shining in his eyes. All I could do was blush and nod, but my heart swelled with warmth.
On the fourth day of the exchange, I stayed behind to rest. Mona insisted on checking my condition again since the baby was growing faster than expected. After the checkup, she gave me a warm drink, hugged me tightly, and sent me on my way home.
I was almost near the house when I saw Ronan.
He was walking down the path in my direction. I slowed down, thinking I could turn around and go the other way, but before I could move, Qur eyes met. His pace quickened, and I lowered my gaze, silently hoping he would just pass me by.}]
He didn’t.
His hand reached out and gently caught my wrist. It wasn’t forceful, not angrily. Just… pleadingly.”
“I miss you,” Ronan said, voice low and rough. “Please. Just talk to me.““]
“There’s nothing left to talk about,” I answered quickly, trying to pull my hand away. “We have no connection anymore. I don’t even remember being with you.”
He didn’t let go. “I know. I don’t understand why the bond disappeared either, but Bella, I loved you. I still do.”
I shook my head. “I don’t love you. And I don’t want to be dragged into the past again.“}]
“You said that because your memories are gone,” he said, eyes filled with desperation. “But I remember everything. You used to wake me up with breakfast. You took care of me when I was sick. You laughed with me, held my hand, told me you’d always be mine.“}
“Then what changed?” I asked, finally pulling my hand free. “If I loved you so much, why did that love vanish the moment my memories disappeared? Love doesn’t just vanish, Ronan. You must’ve done something.“}
He didn’t speak for a moment. His expression twisted as if the truth hurt too much to admit.
“I did take you for granted,” he finally said. “I started asking for more… more of your time, more of your attention and I stopped giving back. But I see it now. I want to fix it. Please… let me prove it.”

“But I won’t give up,” he replied. His voice was steady now. “Not until you look at me in th

His stubbornness frustrated me.

“I’ll never be tired of chasing you,” he said, eyes locked on mine. “I don’t care how long it takes.”
I sighed and tried to walk away. “Suit yourself. I have somewhere to be-”
“Wait,” he interrupted, stepping in front of me again. “There’s something I need to tell you.”
“Then say it and be done.”
“I found something,” he said, lowering his voice. “A cure for your amnesia.”
I stopped walking. My heart skipped a beat. I turned to look at him. “What?“M
‘I met a shaman from the northern mountains,” Ronan said. “She gave me medicine, an herbal blend that can bring back lost memories. I brought it with me. And before you say anything, I’m taking it to Mona to confirm it’s real.“N
My throat felt dry. “Mona told me treatments like that could harm pregnant women.”
“This one won’t,” he said quickly. “The shaman promised it was safe. And if Mona confirms it, you can try it. You deserve to remember who you really are.“%
I didn’t move. I didn’t speak. I wasn’t sure what to feel.
Could this really be the end of all the confusion? Would I finally get the answers I’d been silently craving?”
“Come with me,” he said gently. “Let Mona take a look. That’s all.”%
After a moment of hesitation, I nodded. If there was even a small chance this could finally bring clarity, I had to take it. We walked back to Mona’s house. She looked surprised to see me return so soon.”
“Are you alright?” she asked, standing up quickly.#
I pointed at Ronan. “He says he found a cure for my amnesia. He wants you to check if it’s safe.”
Mona frowned, then turned to Ronan. He handed her a small pouch. She opened it carefully, sniffed it, then took a pinch of the herb and

“Then take it,” he urged. “You’ll remember. You’ll see how much we meant to each other.”
My fingers trembled. I looked at Mona. “You’re sure?”
She nodded once, slowly. “I’m very sure.“}
Still, I didn’t move.”
Ronan tilted his head. “Why are you hesitating?”
I stared at the pouch in her hands. I shook my head. “I need to talk to Valor first.”
Ronan’s face darkened. “You don’t need his permission.“}]
“Yes, I do,” I said firmly. “I’m not doing this behind his back.”
He stepped in front of me again. “Why can’t you just decide for yourself?“}
“I am deciding,” I replied. “And I’m deciding to tell Valor.“}
We stood there, locked in a quiet standoff. Mona crossed her arms and said sharply, “She won’t be taking anything unless Valor approves. I won’t be part of this without his involvement.”
Eventually, Ronan stepped back. Mona called for someone outside, and within minutes, one of Valor’s scouts rushed off to find him. I sat down, heart racing, eyes still glued to the pouch of herbs in Mona’s hand.
The door creaked open. Footsteps approached, which are heavy, fast, and unhesitating. Then Valor stepped into the room, eyes sweeping over me, then over Ronan, then landing on the pouch.
“What’s going on?” He asked, his voice low and calm.
