Chapter 10%
“You know… it was Sean and his mother who killed my mom.“>
It was the first time I had ever said that out loud to anyone.”
I was never the obedient, well–behaved child people assumed I was.
I’ve always known how to use the cards in my hand–because I had to.”
I’ve been seeking revenge for a long time now. Because Sean and his mother were the ones who caused my mother’s death. She shouldn’t have gotten sick. She would have been perfectly healthy–if that woman hadn’t interfered.}
Sean’s mother seduced my father, desperate to become the next Madam Crawford.
She pretended to be my mother’s friend, wormed her way into her trust.}
One day, she gifted my mother a set of delicate, beautiful stones–she said they were rare gems from Mount Kilimanjaro‘ foothills. She even had them crafted into exquisite jewelry.
But those stones were laced with high levels of radiation.
My mother wore the necklace for just two months–and was then diagnosed with leukemia.}
She died not long after.
And that woman got what she wanted.§
She married into our family, gave birth to Sean, and took away everything–my father’s love included.}
Dhad a father, yes. But I lived like an orphan.
The worst year of my life.”
My stepmother locked me in the basement to “teach me a lesson.“}
She even had the housekeeper bring in a few strange women to help “discipline” me.”
They yanked at my hair, smeared glue across my scalp.
The pain was so unbearable i went numb.
I think I lost a few teeth that day, from all the beatings, because I refused to obey.}
I didn’t care how badly it hurt. I wasn’t going to give in.”
One day, I somehow got hold of a brick.
I didn’t hesitate–I smashed it straight into one of the women’s heads.
She passed out instantly. Blood was everywhere.}
The whole thing nearly became a murder case. That’s when my stepmother panicked and finally let me out.
She covered the incident quickly, afraid my father would find out and hold her responsible.§
But from that moment on, she watched me like a hawk.}
In the beginning, Sean and I had some semblance of brotherhood.}
He’d follow me around, call me “big brother,” even save his favorite candies to share with me.}
But my stepmother–she whispered poison into his ears, bit by bit.
She told him. “If it weren’t for him, everything in the Crawford family would be yours,”
So he began to hate me, and started to see me as his enemy. And began trying to take everything I had.
She planted that seed of evil herself–so it was only fitting that her own son reaped the bitter fruit.&
After our honeymoon, Melissa and I returned to the riverside–view villa and settled into a peaceful life.
She didn’t mind that I had no real job.
In fact, she was worried I’d get bored. So she gave me one of her companies to manage–just so I had something to do.
That morning. I was just coming down the stairs when I caught sight of a shadow lurking suspiciously near the front door.”
I instinctively reached for my phone, ready to call security–but then the figure stumbled out and pinned me against the wall

It was Regina Drunk off her mind &
Her eyes were bloodshot, her voice slurred–but her stare was sharp with accusations.#
“Derwer you knew, didn’t you?” she whispered
“Know what?” I asked, genuinely confused.
She ipoked at me like a wounded puppy, pitiful and desperate
“You knew exactly what kind of man Sean really was-You knew he was everything I hated in a man. And you never told me.“))
“You did it on purpose, didn’t you? Because in our past lives, I hat you so badly. So now, in this life, you want to watch me suffer in return. is that 1172
Her voice cracked with a sob, but her tone remained herce–almost arrogant in its pain &

Then she lunged forward and threw her arms around me, clutching me tightly. She even tried to kiss me–tiptoeing to reach my lips.
I grabbed her by the shoulders, pushing her back. “Are you insane?!“}
“Regina, I’m not your husband now. Look at me. See clearly who I am.“}] Regina suddenly gave a bitter laugh–a laugh so hollow, it echoed with regret.
