Chapter 24 Natalie Gets Creative
Jeremiah handed her a set of Stephanie’s clothes.
Natalie refused to accept them. She reasoned, ‘I don’t wear other people’s clothes”
She was 18, the heiress of the Solarias–elegant, proud, and arrogant.
Jeremiah gave a soft laugh and said, “Alright, Your Grace.”
He drove her to the nearest shopping mall and accompanied her to shop at a luxury brand boutique.

While Natalie was in the fitting room, one of the sales assistants couldn’t hold back her admiration. “Sir, your wife is absolutely stunning. Those dresses that look awkward on most people? They fit her like they were tailored for her?
She had served plenty of beautiful women, but Natalie was something else–flawless face, flawless figure, simply breathtaking.
Jeremiah’s smile deepened, reaching the depth of his eyes. He didn’t bother correcting the misunderstanding but simply said. “She’s always been this beautiful.”
By the time Natalie came out in her new outfit, Jeremiah had already paid the bill.
“How much was it? I’ll wire it to you,” she offered.
“It’s fine.”
He knew she didn’t like feeling indebted. Therefore, he offered, “But if you really feel like you owe me something, why not join me for a drink?”
At Nightfall Bar.
Natalie wasn’t in a great mood. She gulped one drink after another.
“You know, drinking like this around a guy is dangerous,” Jeremiah said, gently taking the glass from her hand. He waved to the bartender and got her a glass of passionfruit juice. “Here, try this instead.”
It was her favorite.
Natalie glanced at him, assuming it was just a lucky guess.
“You’re Jonathan’s friend,” she said.
He was

close to Jonathan, and he’d even swapped out the poison she had planned to give Christopher. Of course she trusted
Jeremiah leaned his cheek against his hand, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. Just don’t let your guard down too much around me. I’m no angel.”
Their casual conversation drifted to Christopher.
Jeremiah had heard bits of what had happened at school. He advised, “Don’t blame Chris. He’s just lost the ability to trust people.
Natalie sighed and said, ‘I don’t blame him. I just feel sorry for him?
She wanted to fix things with the boy but didn’t even know where to start.
“One day, Jeremiah said gently, “he’ll understand you meant well. After he comforted her, he also sighed.
Sensing he had something on his mind, Natalie asked, “What’s the matter?”
Jeremiah looked her in the eyes and spoke slowly, “I’ve been in love with someone for six years, but she’s in love with someone else. What would you do in my shoes?”

That resonated deeply. That story sounded far too familiar.
Wasn’t that her story?
She loved Jonathan, but he loved someone else.

They were both a little lost in love. Natalie gave him a sympathetic look and asked, “Does she still have feelings for that first love?”
Jeremiah thought of Jonathan and nodded. “She does.
His story was exactly the same as her.
Natalie spoke from the heart. Then you should let her go.”
She knew how it felt, First love was a powerful thing
Going up against someone’s first love meant you’d already lost.
Jeremiah finished his drink in one long pull. His eyes, now tinged with alcohol and emotion, locked onto hers.
He expressed solemnly, “I tried letting go. All it got me was six years of pain and struggle. She wasn’t happy either, which added to my frustration. So this time, I’m not giving up. Occasionally, you’ve just got to live for yourself. Right?”
Natalie didn’t catch the strange look in his eyes. But his words landed in her chest like a soft wind, blowing away a weight that had been sitting there far too long.
Live for yourself.
“You’re right, Jeremiah, she murmured. “We should live for ourselves”
She grabbed her bag and stood up, but then her gaze fell on a table across the room. She saw a familiar face there.
It was Bonnie.
Her arms were wrapped around a blond–haired male model.
He was nestled in her arms, pouring her a drink. “Baby,” the model cooed, “are you still upset about what happened today? No one could’ve guessed Jonathan would show up at the school. If he hadn’t saved the boy in time, Ronnie would’ve gone to the math competition.”
Bonnie’s anger
flared when she dwelled on this. “If I knew Jonathan was going to be there, I wouldn’t have pushed that boy into the pool. I should’ve shoved him down the stairs instead.”
Natalie slowly sat back down.
Jeremiah was intrigued. He figured she would go storming over and smash Bonnie’s head right there.
“That’s it?” he asked. “You’re just going to let her go?”
“Not a chance.”
Natalie smirked and said, “Bonnie’s rotten to the core. Hitting her won’t change anything. You want to deal with her; you have! to get creative.
She made a call and whispered a few instructions onto the phone.
After a pause, she felt something was missing. Natalie flagged down a server and ordered some fries and chips.
Half an hour later, a middle–aged man in a police uniform stormed into the bar.
Bonnie was still wrapped around that model, passionately making out on the sofa.
Just as things were heating up, the model on top of her was yanked up into the air–and knocked out cold with a single punch.

her face, making her vision blur with
“11–Honey? What are you doing here?” she stammered in fear, scrambling to pull her clothes back on in a panic.
She was still trying to figure out how to explain the guy in her arms when another slap sent her crashing to the floor. A tooth rolled across the hardwood.
“Because of your ridiculous mess, I got demoted for two ranks the man roared, shaking with fury. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done? I was this close to becoming chief!” He glared down at her, face red with anger. “Marrying you is the worst mistake of my life. I’m done. We’re getting divorced:
