Chapter 17 Windy, Come to the Party
Chapter 17 Windy, Come to the Party
Windy didn’t even have to think about it. “No.”
She knew exactly what kind of trap Elsa was setting up for her. Just like in her previous life, this so–called birthday party. would turn her into a laughingstock among the city’s socialites.
Elsa had already made all the arrangements, just waiting for her to fall right into the trap.
Of course Elsa wasn’t surprised by her refusal. She hadn’t even gotten even with Windy yet for stepping on her foot the other day.
Windy had the nerve to claim it wasn’t intentional.
Did she look like an idiot? It had been obvious.
It was deliberate, no doubt about it.
Elsa’s eyes flickered with calculation as she moved a little closer, her voice dripping with gentle persuasion.
“Windy, you just got back. You really need to meet new people. It’ll be good for you to have friends to rely on when you go out. Besides, you’re the Sue family’s daughter now–you need to fit into this circle. It’ll help you in the future.”
Windy lowered her gaze, pretending to think it over.
S this, Elsa leaned in slightly, flashing a dazzling smile.
“Don’t worry, I’ll stay with you the whole time. You won’t be alone. Everyone’s really nice.”
Nicet
Windy almost laughed.
Nice enough to push me into a freezing swimming pool, lock me in a bathroom all night, and then put on a big show of fake concern the next morning.
In her last life, when Elsa had invited her to this very same birthday party, she’d been completely set up.
While Elsa was “off upstairs, her friends had shoved Windy into the pool. Nobody had even pretended to help her.
Soaked and freezing, she’d barely crawled out, only to be led away by a “waiter who locked her in a filthy bathroom all night. She wasn’t found until the next morning by a janitor.
And what had Elsa done? Come running with teary eyes, grabbing her hand and sobbing, blaming herself for not taking care of her properly, saying she thought Windy had left on her own and they had searched for her all night.
Windy, foolish and naive, had ended up apologizing for causing them worry.
Now she saw it clearly. The whole thing had been a setup.
How stupid I was back then.
Dragging herself back to the present, Windy finally lifted her head.
“Alright,” she said casually. “But it’s my first time going to a party. I don’t know how any of this works. You have to stick with
Elsa lit up with barely concealed excitement.
She practically bounced on the spot, her eyes eagerly scanning Windy from head to toe,

“Of course, Windy, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of you.”
Yeah, right.
Windy smiled back, her face all innocence and gratitude.
Thanks. I’ll get ready, then.”
Elsa laughed brightly, taking her hand and squeezing it warmly.
“That’s settled: I’m gonna go get ready too!”
Unable to help herself, she threw in a compliment as she turned to leave.
“You’re a little too skinny, but your face is really pretty. And your skin–it’s so fair! With a little touch–up, you’re gonna be the
slar tomorrow.
Elsa stroked Windy’s hand as she said it, staring at Windy’s flawless face with thinly veiled jealousy.
Her skin was so smooth, so pale. Not a pore in sight.
Even without makeup. Windy looked stunning.
And those eyes–bright and expressive–were enough to make anyone jealous.
Elsa’s gaze shifted to her own reflection in the nearby mirror.
A few blemishes near her mouth, pores large enough to spot from a mile
away.
If it weren’t for makeup, she could easily pass for the older sister, not the younger one.
The more she looked, the more it enraged her.
How could a mutt from some hick village have skin this perfect?
She had meant to flatter her just to lower Windy’s guard, but the truth of it just made her even angrier.
That for–faced bitch.
She
She hated her even more now.
Tomorrow, she swore, she would make sure Windy was utterly humiliated.
Windy caught every flicker of emotion in Elsa’s face.
She smiled sweetly.
“Yeah, I was just born lucky. Never tan, never break out. Meanwhile you…” Her tone grew almost pitying. “You’re already getting dark spots and acne. Look at your skin–it’s clogged, your complexion’s dull. Are you sure you’re washing your face properly?”
She gave Elsa a slow, disdainful once–over, making no effort to hide it.
Elsa’s entire body tensed.
She barely stopped herself from screaming.
Rage boiled in her blood, her fists clenching at her sides.
But she forced a tight, awkward smile, muttered something unintelligible, and fled the room in a flurry of embarrassment. The door slammed shut behind her.

Chapter 17 Windy, Come to the Party
Windy watch it happen, the corners of her mouth lifting in a cold, mocking smile.
She turned to the vanity and stared into the mirror,
Raising her hand, she traced her reflection carefully–her brows, her nose, her lips, every inch of smooth, flawless skin.
Not a dream. Not an illusion.
This was her.
This was Windy–alive, breathing, whole.
For bark
And this time, I won’t be the one kneeling.
Seeing her enemies again, so close she could touch them, how could she not burn with hatred?
It’s a gift from the heavens. A second chance.
She wasn’t going to waste it
She would grow stronger, gather her forces, and one day crush every last one of them beneath her feet.
If life was just a road to hell anyway, then before I die, I’m taking them all with me.
Across the hall, another storm was brewing.
In her room, Elsa was tearing through the closet like a madwoman.
Clothes lay scattered across the floor, stomped into a crumpled mess.
Chairs and stools were kicked over, the room a complete disaster.
Hatred twisted her pretty face into something almost unrecognizable.
You think you can steal what’s mine?
Dream on, you backwater piece of trash.
Even if you’re the real Sue family daughter, what of it?
Mom loves me more.
All it takes is one word from me and you’re out of here
The Sue family belongs to me. Always has. Always will.
She would have everything back soon enough.
Windy could enjoy her little moment of triumph. It wouldn’t last long.
Tonight, Elsa barely slept at all.
Every time she closed her eyes, she dreamed of Windy stealing everything from her.
By the time dawn broke, she was still tossing and turning
