- 11.
Declan hurried after me, grabbing my hand.
“Sierra, don’t go. I need to talk to you.”
“I just want to talk about what happened before.”
“I’ve thought about it a lot. What I did back
then was wrong. I shouldn’t have used you.”
As soon as he said that, the nightmarish
memories came flooding back like a tidal
wave.
“Don’t touch me!”
I violently shook his hand off.
He looked stunned, as if he couldn’t believe
I’d treat him this way.
“Declan, don’t you dare bring up the past with me.‘
“I haven’t forgotten a single thing you did. I remember it all very clearly.”
I struggled to control the turmoil raging inside
- me.
“To put it simply, we are over.”
“And another thing, I’m going to expose
everything you did to use me.”
With that, I turned to leave.
Suddenly, with a thud, he knelt on the ground
in front of me.
His once refined face was now contorted with pain.
That face, which I had once been so obsessed with, now just filled me with disgust.
“Sierra, please, don’t expose me. Things are
already so hard for me. I can’t find a decent
job.”
“And what does that have to do with me?”
I raised an eyebrow, looking at him coolly.
“Declan, I want you to suffer.”
Just then, Miles came out.
He started to say something, but I cut him off. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were friends with Declan.”
“This blind date is over.”
I left without another word.
