Boyfriend’s Comatose Sister Gets
Pregnant, and the Child Is His
Chapter 1
I’d spent seven years playing nurse to my
boyfriend Declan’s “sister.”
Seven years of pouring every last cent we had
into keeping her alive, hoping she’d wake up
from that goddamn coma.
Our wedding fund? Gone. Our future? All bet
on her recovery.
And then, she did wake up.
But the miracle came with a punch to the gut:
Noelle – that was her real name, not some

sweet, dependent ‘sister‘ was pregnant.
And the baby? It was Declan’s.

He didn’t even have the decency to look me
in the eye. “I’m sorry, Sierra,” he mumbled,
already reaching for Noelle’s hand. “I lied.
She’s not my sister. She’s Noelle Monroe, my
ex.”
“Thanks for the past seven years. I’ll make it
up to you when I’m rolling in it.”

“So, these whole seven years, you were just
using me?”
I stared at Declan, my voice trembling.
He was already holding Noelle’s hand, their
fingers laced together.
No. not Noelle Shaw. or whatever fake name
–
He’d just admitted it — the whole “sister”
thing was a lie. Her name wasn’t even his.
“Look, I know lying was wrong,” Declan said,
a flicker of annoyance in his eyes. “But it’s
not like I haven’t taken care of you all these
years.”
I almost laughed. Taken care of me? He
meant I cooked and cleaned for him.
And when Noelle needed money for her
medical bills, who do you think he leaned on?
Me. Always me.
I did it all without complaint because I loved
him, and I thought he loved me.
But now? Now he tells me his “sister” was his

Pregnant with his baby. Two months along.
That meant he’d been sneaking around,
sleeping with her. The timeline was sickening.
My hand flew to my chest. I felt sick. The pain
was a physical thing.
“What are you crying for?”
Declan snapped, his face twisting in anger.
“So I lied! It’s not like I ever hurt you. When
we were together, it was real, Sierra.”
I swayed, nearly losing my balance.
Tears streamed down my face, hot and fast.
My whole body was shaking.
<
We met at the hospital. I had this awful
stomach pain, and he’d been so kind, taking
me to find a doctor.
I was touched. I said yes when he asked me
out.
Later, he told me about his “sister,” how she
needed my help.
And for seven years, I poured my heart and
soul into caring for her.
I treated Noelle like she was my own flesh
and blood.
I even gave her all my savings.
“Declan,” I sobbed, the word tearing from my

I couldn’t wrap my head around it. The man
I’d loved for seven years had been lying to me
from the very beginning.
“Sierra, I’m so sorry.”
Noelle actually climbed out of bed and knelt
on the floor.
Her eyes were red–rimmed.
“It’s all my fault for getting sick. Declan only
lied because… because he’s a man, he
couldn’t take care of me properly, and he
didn’t have the money for my medical bills.”
As she spoke, she fumbled with a gold
bracelet on her wrist.
“Here take this As compensation2”
“Here, take this. As compensation?”
“Please, just let Declan and me be happy.”
“We were supposed to get married seven
years ago.”
I snatched the bracelet and threw it across
the room. The sight of it made me want to
puke.
That bracelet. Declan had worked multiple
jobs, saved up every penny to buy it.
Back then, I thought it was for me.
Then he’d put it on Noelle’s wrist, saying, “It
was my fault my sister had the accident. This
is for her, as an apology.”
L
“Sierra, what the hell are you doing?!”
Declan jumped up and shoved me, hard.
I stumbled and crashed to the floor.
“Noelle was trying to be nice, and you threw it
in her face!”
“I just lied to you a little, what’s the big deal? Why are you so dramatic?”
A little lie?
How could he say that?
I gave him seven years of my life, my youth, everything. And now he was telling me I could
just… leave.
<
It was a joke. A cruel, twisted joke.
I clutched my chest, sobbing.
People started to gather, nurses and other
patients, some asking what was wrong.
Declan, probably embarrassed by the scene,
just scooped Noelle into his arms and
stormed out.
