Her face changed; afraid that Laura might agree to Bowen’s engagement, she grabbed her hand tightly and urged, “You love Cameron so much. You’ve pursued him for five years and finally got engaged. Don’t let a moment of anger cloud your judgment!
“You’re being too reckless. Cameron will definitely be angry when he comes back. Listen to me and just forget about it. You can always reschedule the engagement later. Don’t do anything you’ll regret. Otherwise, you will make Cameron a laughingstock…”
“So, I should just be the butt of everyone’s jokes? Laura’s lips curled up in a slight smile as she quietly pulled her hand away.

She quickly pulled Brielle aside to stop her from saying more and bowed to Russell.” Mr. Weaver, Brielle and Laura are super close. She said all that in a fit of emotion. Consider it a kid’s blabbering, so don’t take it too seriously.
“Mom?” Brielle looked at Lynn in disbelief.
“Huh…” Bowen sneered, “She surely is blabbering… but someone close to thirty is still considered a kid?
“It was me who proposed to Laura, yet Brielle says that Laura being with me is an insult to me. So does that mean you think I’m crazy?”
“Uncle Bowen… I didn’t mean it like that…” Brielle’s face paled as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Don’t get me wrong.
“Don’t want me to get you wrong? Then shut up.” Even with Desmond and Lynn. present, Bowen spared Brielle no respect. “You have no right to speak for anyone.”
“I…” Brielle stammered, her face beet red.
“Can you all just chill out!” Russell waved his hand impatiently and turned back to Laura. “Laura, don’t pay attention to what others say. Just speak your mind.

“Do you want to cancel the engagement and switch it for other compensation, or agree to Bowen getting engaged to you instead?”
Laura looked up at Bowen..
Standing tall, Bowen remained cold and arrogant. However, when she looked at him, a
faint smile appeared on his face as he extended his hand. “Laura, will you do me the honor of being my fiancée?”
Blinded by his smile, Laura smoothly placed her hand in his. “I will. It’s my honor.”
Seeing this, Brielle and Nyla instantly turned ashen.
“Dad! Mom!” Brielle panicked.
Nyla looked at Russell and Grace, indigant. “But Laura is Cameron’s fiancée!”
Grace also looked grim as she glanced at Russell, who only waved his hand indifferently and said, “If Bowen doesn’t step up, do you really expect that punk Cameron to show up now? Since Cameron doesn’t have the luck, and Laura is willing to marry Bowen, that’s settled then!”
“Old man, isn’t this ridiculous?” Grace finally couldn’t hold back and spoke again. “Is Bowen even taking Cameron as his nephew with what he’s doing?”
“Well then, is Cameron being fair to Laura?” Russell’s tone was stern.
Grace’s lips quivered, but no words came out. Russell humphed coldly and arranged
for someone to replace all of Cameron’s info with Bowen’s at the engage
party.
Grace’s reaction just now made Laura couldn’t help but take a longer look at her, her eyes carrying a bit more contemplation.
But since the time was up, she didn’t dwell on it further, placing her hand on Bowen’s arm and walking down the red carpet together with him.
