1 Chapter 1 One Crazy Night
1.Chapter 1 One Crazy Night
In Ronson City’s elite circles, Laura Wilson was a total joke.
Born to be her sister’s blood bank, she was shunned by her folks and mocked by
everyone.
Her sad crush on Cameron Weaver had her pegged as his top groupie, lapping up every shitty thing he did.
No one thought she had any guts–not even Cameron. He figured she was too far gone, crazy for him, no chance she’d ever bail.
“Hey, Mr. Weaver, you really locking it down with Laura soon?” a voice asked inside the
VIP room.
Laura’s hand froze on the doorknob as Cameron’s smug drawl answered, “Her? She’s not even close to my level.”
His tone was careless, like he was brushing off a nobody. A chill hit Laura like a slap of ice water, sinking deep.
“No shit,” another guy laughed. “Julieta’s your real deal. Laura’s just spare parts for her sister’s meds. Marry her? Hell no.”
The room went silent for a second. Cameron didn’t say a word to disagree.
Then, the place erupted in cruel laughs.
The jeers cut Laura deep, her chest tight with a bitter sting.
Just then, the door swung open, and what she saw crushed her. Pain ripped through her heart.
There was Cameron, rocking a slick suit, the usual big shot in the crowd.
But tonight, he had some new girl draped across his lap–one Laura had never seen.
“Well, holy shit, look who showed up–Miss Wilson!” Harvey Spencer, the guy at the door, smirked loud enough to turn heads.
Every pair of eyes in the room zeroed in on Laura, dripping with venom and not a hint of surprise.
The dim light in the private room washed over Laura’s face, leaving it pale as death. Cameron’s brow twitched faintly, but he yanked the girl in his arms closer, throwing Laura a smirk sharp enough to cut. “Get in here,” he growled.
Laura’s nails dug into her palms as she stepped forward, each footfall heavy, dragging her closer to Cameron.
Julieta, curled against him, caught Laura’s approach, and the color drained from her face, replaced by a jittery mix of fear and unease.
Laura’s eyes narrowed. ‘Is that girl actually this scared of me? Come on.‘

“Chill, Julieta, babe. I’ll fix this,” Cameron murmured, pulling her tighter. He took a hard drag on his cigarette, the tip glowing briefly.
Through the curling cigarette smoke, Cameron flicked ash with a lazy smirk, his eyes. cutting into Laura with raw contempt.
His voice was acid. “Bow to her.”
Laura froze. “What?”
“You deaf?” Cameron snatched a glass from the table and hurled it at her. “I said, bow to Julieta. Now.”
The glass shattered, and Laura stumbled back, stunned. “Cameron, I’m your francée. You can’t make me-”
“Fiancée?” he scoffed, venom dripping from the word. “You’re nothing, Laura.”
With a quick nod to Harvey at the door, Cameron signaled his move. Harvey stepped up, slamming a heavy hand onto Laura’s shoulder, shoving her head down.
The force was ruthless, and Laura let out a sharp gasp as pain shot through her.
“Hurts, huh?” Cameron’s voice slithered down, cold and vicious.
He grabbed her chin, forcing her to look up into his glare. “When you pushed Julieta down those stairs, she hurt a hell of a lot worse.”
Laura’s face went white. “Pushed her?” She clawed at his grip, voice trembling. “I don’t even know her!”
Cameron sneered. “Don’t know her, and you still fucked her up that bad? Damn, Laura, didn’t know you were such a ruthless bitch.”
He tossed her to the floor like trash.
Grabbing a wet wipe from someone nearby, he scrubbed his fingers like she was filth, his tone thick with disgust. “I only said yes to this engagement for Grandpa. Why couldn’t you leave Julieta the hell alone?”
You drugged me to get your hooks in–how fucking desperate are you?” His voice darkened. “If I’d known helping you back then would end with you screwing over Julieta so bad she lost our kid, I’d have left you to rot in that attic.”
His words hit like blades, carving Laura apart.
“Kid?” Her voice cracked, eyes red as they flicked to Julieta, who looked scared but had a smug glint buried deep.
Then back to Cameron. “Yours?”
A flicker of pain crossed Cameron’s eyes, gone in a flash. “You don’t get to ask me shit,” he snarled. “If you hadn’t spike my drink, Julieta wouldn’t have gotten pregnant saving
my ass.”
He didn’t deny it. And with that, Laura’s heart turned to ash, the raw pain in her chest.

fading to a cold, dead numbness.
“Cameron, I didn’t mess with your drink. Never even met her before today,” Laura said, her voice steady despite his icy stare.
She gave a bitter chuckle. “Wanna ditch this engagement? Just say it. I’ll handle your grandpa and set you free. No need to sling bullshit accusations.”
“Still playing dumb?” Cameron sneered, his eyes
wine.”
glinting with disdain. “Harvey, get that
Harvey scrambled like a kid on Christmas, fetching the glass with a grin.
In the low light, no one caught the faint grit of powder lingering at the bottom.
“Make her drink,” Cameron growled, looming over Laura like she was nothing. “You hurt Julieta, you pay.”
The wine hit her throat like fire. Laura choked, coughing as it splashed her face and soaked her shirt, leaving her a total wreck.
“Pathetic,” Cameron muttered, turning away. He yanked Julieta up, arm around her waist. “Let’s bounce.”
“Uh, Cameron… what about Laura?” someone piped up, eyeing Laura’s slumped form.
That wine was strong enough to drop a bull, and she was still technically his fiancée.
“Don’t give a shit,” Cameron said coldly. He stopped by Laura just to rub it in. “This is your warning, Laura. Know your place.”
Laura tried to speak, but her head swam, a thick fog choking her thoughts. A searing heat tore through her, like a thousand needles under her skin.
That drink was spiked.
“Cameron…“She curled up, teeth gritted, fingers clawing at his pant leg. “Wait… something’s off with that wine…”
“Cut the act,” Cameron snapped, kicking her hand away. “You earned this.”
He and his crew strutted out, their laughter echoing. Laura’s vision blurred, the last flicker of hope fading to black.
She should’ve seen it way earlier–Cameron didn’t give a damn about her anymore.
Had no clue how long she’d been out of it before the suite door banged open. Some tall, wiry guy stormed in, scooped Laura up, and hustled her straight out.
Next thing she knew, they were in the Cloudview penthouse. He set her down on the bed, careful as hell. “Hey. Hold on, okay? I’m calling a doctor.”
As he started to get up, Laura clung to his tie for dear life.
“Laura, let go.“He leaned in close, blocking her in, staring her down with those sharp
eyes.

Her vision was all blurry now, making his face seem unreal. He dropped his voice, trying to keep it steady-“Look at me. I’m not Cameron.”
She blinked, trying to focus. Suddenly she grinned a little, looped her arms around his neck. “You’re Uncle Bowen.”
“What?” Bowen Weaver just stared, expression dark. “Yeah, I’m Uncle Bowen. Not. Cameron. So I can’t-”
He pinched her wrists together above her head, thumb stroking her cheek.
She cut him off, voice thick. “He doesn’t fucking matter. I don’t want him. I want you.”
Next thing, she licked his hand, desperate and a little wild. Her eyes shone, almost teary. “Uncle Bowen, I feel like shit. Please, can you help me? I need you.”
Her words hit Bowen hard, sparking something fierce in his eyes. “Laura, you sure you won’t regret this?”
