Less than half an hour later, Zachary’s assistant sent over the complete surveillance footage. As Zachary returned to the hospital, he stopped in his tracks and carefully watched the video. His expression grew increasingly cold.

Claire had called Raymond over as soon as he got out of school. Her youngest son was fiercely protective of Aurora and couldn’t stand to see her suffer even the slightest injustice. When Trovan told him that Roseanne had caused Aurora’s forehead injury, Raymond was livid.
Trovan scoffed, his tone full of irritation. “Your brother treats Roseanne like she’s some poor victim, acting as if we’re out to bully her.
Aurora quickly tried to explain, “Roseanne didn’t do anything to me. It was Eula’s boyfriend-”
She felt utterly humiliated and didn’t know how to continue,
“Aurora, stop defending her! Ever since Roseanne came back, this house has been a mess!”

The door swung open, and Zachary stepped in. His usud gentle demeanor was gone, replaced by an icy chill.
Seeing his expression, Trovan sinirked. “Didn’t you go see Roseanne off? Why do you look so pssed? What did she do this time?”
Zachary’s gaze swept over the three of them, sharp and unforgiving. “Is this really how you welcome Rosie home?”
His eyes landed on Raymond. “Do you really hate your own sister that much?”
The words hit like a slap. Raymond blinked and looked away, feeling guilty. “The first day she came home, I acknowledged her as my sister. You know what she said? Just a cold ‘hello‘, I’m not an idiot. Why should I act all warm and friendly when she couldn’t care less?”

But Aurora always had his back. When he got scolded, she defended him. When he was punished, she knelt beside him. When he was about to get hit, she shielded him.
To him, blood relation didn’t matter–Aurora was his real sister.
The day he found out he had another sister, he was so excited he didn’t sleep all night. He imagined having someone else who would care for him, who would protect him just like Aurora did,
But when he first met Roseanne, all he saw was a girl who looked a lot like their father–calm, distant, unreadable. He called. her his sister. She barely looked at him and just said hello.
She was smiling, but the smile never reached her eyes. Then, the first time he got in trouble after she returned, she stood there, stone–faced, silent.
He never called her his sister again.
Zachary let out a bitter chuckle. “I get it now,” he muttered. “I finally understand why Rosie was in such a rush to get married to Brandon.”
She knew this house had no place for her.
Clenching his phone tightly, Zachary looked at Aurora. “Aury,” he said, his voice calm but distant. “They may not believe you. but I will Tell me what really happened today.”

Claire hesitated, but Raymond and Trovan immediately crowded in to look. Aurora’s breath caught in her throat. Zachary had the footage this whole time?
Then why did he ask me what happened? Did he not believe me? The surveillance footage! Have they seen it? Have they seen Howard… nearly touch me?
Aurora started trembling, an overwhelming sense of luumil tion flooding her. She wanted to stop them, but she didn’t dare.

Aurora clenched her fists, a flicker of resentment flashing in her eyes.

A wave of warmth washed over Aurora, pushing away the bitterness that had threatened to consume her. Tears fell again, and she reached out, clinging tightly to Zachary, “I’m sorry, Zachary. I was wrong”

she had grown up in a poor family, yet she had taken Roseanne’s place. She should feel guilty. She shouldn’t have had such selfish thoughts.
“Howard kept bothering me, she admitted in a broken voice, “But I was too scared to say anything. I was afraid he’d twist the story, say I was the one seducing him. I was scared Eula would come after me. I was… just a fraud, and I knew it.”
Her voice was soft, but Zachary heard every word.
Two years ago, she would’ve never swallowed her pride. But she wasn’t the real daughter of the Sylvester family. She was an imposter. And she wasn’t afraid of losing what was never hers to begin with.
But now, she had something to lose. Ever since her true identity was exposed, she heard the whispers.

Aurora had to stay on everyone’s good side and to be cautious with every step. The more the Sylvester family ignored Roseanne, the more guilt she carried.

Zachary patted her shoulder. “I’ll make them pay.”
After seeing the footage, Trovan was furious. “That b*stard! How dare he touch Aury! I’ll make sure he regrets it!”
Claire stood frozen, a cold, indifferent face flashing in her mind.

Seeing Aurora sobbing so miserably, Claire finally snapped back to reality. With a firm tone, she said, “We have to sue them”
If it hadn’t been for Eula’s nonsensical gossip, she never would have wrongfully accused her own daughter, creating such a painful rift.
Meanwhile, at the train station, a weary–looking couple emerged from the station, burdened with an assortment of luggage. Their faces were lined with exhaustion and despair.
Meghan wiped the sweat from her forehead and sighed. “Steve, are we really going to ask Aurora for money?”
