“Even after being wronged by both you and Gillian, she never complained to us. Sienne never hurt you. She’s been quietly
protecting you all along.
“Honestly, I was sad when you two didn’t end up married. But now, with Sienna planning to study abroad, it’s better to respect
her decision.”
With every word June spoke, Sebastian’s face grew paler and paler.
When he heard the last sentence, he immediately caught the most important detail. “Study abroad? What study abroad?”
June looked surprised. “You didn’t know? Sienna’s leaving the country soon. She said she didn’t want to hold you back, so she
didn’t go through with the marriage.”

“That’s impossible! We already got our marriage certificate!” Sebastian blurted out, his mind reeling.
Suddenly, he remembered what I had said the day before-“Check it tomorrow. There’ll be a surprise.”
Sebastian frantically pulled out the marriage certificate from his pocket and flipped it open. There, in bold ink, was the bride’s
name-“Gillian Brown“.
His hand trembled violently, and his voice broke into a disbelieving whisper. “How could this be?”
Tears fell, one after another, onto the marriage certificate, blurring the paper.

His heart felt as if someone had dug a piece out of it with a spoon, aching and hollow.
With a sharp motion, he threw the marriage certificate into the trash and got up.
He walked into my room, crouched down beside my bed, and gently took my hand in his. Tears streamed down his face.

“All this time… I was blind. In the end, the only one who ever treated me honestly was you. And it is only now that I can finally see
my own heart clearly. From the beginning, it was always you. I have always loved you.”
His head dropped in anguish as he fought to steady his crumbling emotions.
After a long while, he slowly stood up.
He gently tucked the blanket around me and, with reddened eyes and a trembling voice, whispered, “Sia, when you wake up, I’m
going to confess to you properly. After that, I’ll spend my whole life protecting you.”
When I left the hospital earlier, something like an unshakable obsession had pushed me to run straight home.
Only after I made it back to my room did my body finally give out, and I collapsed into a deep sleep.
I knew it was the time machine. Its time limit had been reached.
When I opened my eyes again, my first instinct was to grab the nearby wall for support, clutching my pounding temples.
A flood of memories rushed into my mind all at once.
Thirteen years ago, after I had fallen into a coma at home for a day and a night, I woke up.
To my astonishment, Sebastian, completely unlike his usual self, had confessed to me deeply and sincerely.
