“I’m the future Mrs. Riley! Why did your father
lock me up? Ethan’s here!”
I looked at her like she was crazy.
“What’s the use of pretending now? Didn’t I
tell you I’m the Riley daughter, and how
ruthless the Riley family is? This is on you.”
“Forget Ethan. I’ve had my father revoke his
inheritance and disown him. He’s our enemy
now.”
Chloe turned pale, eyes wide with disbelief.
She looked at Ethan, crying.
“No, it’s impossible! Lily can’t be the Riley
daughter! Ethan, tell me you’re the heir! This
isn’t real!”
“What’s going to happen to me? Will I be
stuck here forever?”
“No, Lily, you can’t do this, this is illegal
imprisonment!”
Chloe cried. She truly regretted her actions.
Ethan grabbed Chloe’s shoulders, slapping
her.
He knelt before me.
“Lily, I’m sorry. It’s Chloe’s fault. Blame her,
not me! I didn’t mean to hurt you!”
“I’m sorry! Please don’t let Dad kick me out!
I’ll treat you like a sister. Once I inherit…”
I cut him off with laughter.
I looked at him disdainfully.
“Ethan, you still dream of inheriting? Do you
think that’s possible?”

Ethan broke down, banging his wrists against
the bars, yelling.
“Why? Why won’t you forgive me? I just didn’t
recognize you!”
“You looked too seductive, and Dad always
ignored you. I thought you were his mistress!”
Lee also broke down, realizing he’d helped
the wrong people.
He recalled his cruelty towards me, wishing
he could slap himself.
He crawled to me, begging.
“Miss, I was assigned to protect you!”
“I didn’t expect Ethan to trick me. He was
with Chloe, saying Dad’s daughter was
Chloe!”
“I was used! I didn’t know I was wrong!”
I looked at him, without pity.
“But I told you I’m Dad’s daughter.”
Lee hesitated.
“Ethan said you were a gold digger, the son

“I was tricked! Forgive me!”

“So you believed someone without checking,
becoming an accomplice?”
“This is what you deserve.”
As I was leaving, Chloe coughed up blood and
collapsed.
