In the fifteen minutes Liam and I spent walking across the crowded campus, I counted at least 27 girls sneaking glances at him.
Three of them even came up to ask for his number, acting like I wasn’t standing right
there.
It made me suddenly grateful that Liam had never gone to college. If he had, I’d probably have had to fight off a swarm of rich, beautiful rivals.
All around us, graduates were taking pictures
I tugged on Liam’s sleeve.
“Liam, let’s take a picture together.”
I rarely took photos with him.
In the past, I couldn’t imagine why I’d want a picture with my controlling, overbearing
brother.
But today, I wanted to capture this moment with him.
He lowered his eyes to look at me, and the intensity in his gaze made my chest tighten.
I was suddenly grateful we were surrounded by people on this busy campus.
I asked a passing girl to help us take a few pictures.
When she handed the phone back, she smiled at me.
“You and your boyfriend make a really cute couple,” she said.
“Thanks,” I replied, not bothering to correct her.

“I think so too.”
When I called Liam my boyfriend, his expression turned dark, like he wanted to devour
me on the spot.
“You’ve never called me that before,” he said.
“Called you what?“,
The summer wind carried his words, and his tie fluttered slightly in the breeze.
Liam had never been part of my youth, my carefree days, but he made my heart race,
more than anyone I’d ever met.
Later, in a quiet alleyway far from the noisy crowd, he pinned me to the wall and kissed
- me.
“You’ve never called me your boyfriend before,” he whispered against my lips.
“Baby, I’ve been waiting forever to hear you say that.”
His kiss left my legs trembling.
