The old man, Jonathan Jackson, who adopted me, eventually passed away. Unfortunately, the man was poor. So, I had no formal education and no connections.N

“You were the one who gave me the import and export orders. Through that, I realized the industry desperately needed security, so I had my men like Mr. O’Connell to set up a security company.”
Francis looked like he was about to pass out. But when he heard my words, he exhaled in relief. Unfortunately for him, it was

My expression then darkened as I told him, “But let me make one thing clear. You can treat me like a dog if you want, but you can’t steal my money. My security company was the one that saved Mr. Powell’s family, which means his reward belongs to
me.”

I shook my head as I firmly told him, “I already told you… both Eleanor and I are married on the paper only. I don’t care about her personal life. But my money?“}

His face twisted in panic as he tried to argue, “If I hand everything over, the Henderson Family will go bankrupt!“}
I waved a hand dismissively, trying to reason with him.
“No, I’ll leave you 10% of the profits that I make. Otherwise, I guarantee your shipments will never make it past the port. Are we clear with that?”
There was nothing but silence from Francis‘ mouth.

At that moment, something unexpected happened. Mr. Carney, his wife and Andrew all dropped to their knees before me.” Mr. Carney’s voice shook as he begged me, “Matthew, we treated you terribly, but please … help the Carney Family. If you do, we’ll finally accept you as one of us!“!
I almost laughed. I preferred them when they were arrogant. At least then, I could manipulate them for my own benefit. Now, with them acting all humble, they wanted something from me.
