Chapter 8
I didn’t expect that, after Jaiden liked my photo on Twitter, he appeared in front of my company’s door during a normal after–work time.
The sunset was beautiful, but I had no interest in admiring it.
Because I saw someone I didn’t want to see.
“Ellana, I finally found you.”
Twitter displayed the IP of the city I was in.
It took several days for him to appear, so I suppose he used all his connections to find my company.
I didn’t originally plan to avoid him, I just didn’t want him to stir up any ripples in my peaceful life.
He held the flowers in his hands, his face full of eagerness, but his smile became somewhat stiff when he saw my expressionless face.
It has only been a few months since we last met, but he appears to have aged a bit.
He always had high demands on his outward appearance, but he wore wrinkled clothes and even had slight stubble on his chin,
Without me by his side, he could barely take care of even the most basic aspects of his life.
“Elliana, who is this?”
Marlee, who came out together, looked at Jaiden in disbelief.
1 just smiled and put on a cold expression while looking at Jaiden.
“My ex–husband.”
In this strange atmosphere, Marlee quietly left.
Jalden was also provoked by the two words from her ex–husband, and her face went from hopeful to desolate, even her back became slightly hunched.
In the coffee shop at the entrance of the company, the 99 roses he brought always managed to attract a lot of attention.
But he forgot that I was unusually sensitive to smells and pollen.
Even in an open space, these roses would make me cough and retch, and sneeze uncontrollably.
I covered my mouth and nose with disgust, and only then did he realize it. He pleasingly picked up the rose and hurriedly placed it outside the coffee shop.
“The matter of divorce, I suppose your mother has already told you.”
“Since you came to me, I don’t have to go through the legal process.”
This is also the reason why I agreed to sit down with him face to face.
It has been six months singe 1 left, and I don’t want to drag it out any longer. I just want to settle it quickly,
Upon hearing my words, his once bright eyes instantly dimmed.
But for me, apart from divorce, I didn’t feel like there was anything else to talk about with him.
“I would not divorce you.”
“I came this time, hoping that you would come back with me.”
Did he go back with him?
How ridiculous it was.
Am I such a despicable person? Allowing him to come and go at his bock and call?
I had just escaped from the cage, so how could I allow myself to step into the abyss again?
Moreover, without me, he could be more openly together with Kiera, without having to worry about the existence of my deceased wife, and allowing Kiera’s child to rightfully become his own child
“If you came all the way just to tell me a cold joke, I’m sorry but I value my time and won’t accompany you
“Let’s go to the court directly.”
