Chapter 24
Lisa’s face turned pale with anger as the gritted her teeth and retorted, “I’m better than either of you unknown little rookies”
She then looked them up and down disdainfully. “No wonder you’re shallow–minded. With what you two are wearing, combined, it’s not as expensive as a single pair of my shoes. Naturally, you can’t help but be superficial. You lot, you’re not even worthy of speaking to me. I can’t be bothered to argue with you.”
The two girls were far from pashovers and immediately retorted, “We may not be as rich as you, but where did your money come from? Isn’t it all because you fawned over the CEO beside you like a sycophant?
“You were
i were so cunning when you were the other woman, who knows what underhanded things you’ve done behind our bucks. And yet, you dare to show your face in public. It’s laughable.”
“You fucking”
“Enough” Cyril finally spoke up, his deep voice carrying an authoritative power that made others think twice before acting out
Lisa immediately fell silent.
Trina scoffed at the scene unfolding in front of her. In her mind, no matter how sneaky Lisa was behind the scenes, she was nothing in front of Cyril, bringing shame to her gender.
Thinking about having once been defeated by such a person made Trina feel ashamed.
The competition was heating up with the red Ferrari and the black Lamborghini bartling it out in the final lap.
In Trina’s view, both cars were evenly matched in skill, but the Lamborghini driver seemed noticeably weaker mentally. He always opted for safe. seady speeds where he should have been accelerating aggressively, while the Ferrari had a crazy, reckless drive.
Such a racing style would never be tolerated in professional races, the most important thing for a racer was to avoid accidents. His aggressive driving clearly left no room for the Lamborghini, a tactic meant to force his opponent into a corner,
Trina’s frown deepened as she watched, her worst fears coming true,
As the two cars shot through the narrow gate, the Lamborghini was barely half a car length ahead, but the Ferrari suddenly went full throttle, recklessly ignoring any safety concer
The road was so light it could barely fit one car. The Ferrari surged forward, overtaking the Lamborghini by half a car length and squeezing it dangerously close to the wall—a calculated move to force a collision.
Usually, races like this ended before things got too risky, but it was clear the Ferrari driver didn’t care. Winning was all that mattered.
Everyone held their breath, and Trina’s frown deepened.
At the final checkpoint, the Lamborghini couldn’t take the hit from the Ferrari. With a loud bang the Lamborghini smashed into the stone wall, its front half crumpling aspieces flew everywhere. Meanwhile, the Ferrari didn’t even slow down, speeding across the finish line in a cloud of dust
For a few seconds, the track fell into an eerie silence. Then, chaos erupted–people screamed and rushed toward the wrecked Lamborghini
The air was filled with panicked voices.
Amid the chaos, Trina turned to Fred and asked, “Who the hell’s driving that Ferrari?”
Fred’s face darkened. “Kemp Moss. Heir to Herlanglobal”
Before she could ask more, Fred added. “He’s notorious for being a reckless, arrogant bastard. His family always cleans up his messes because he’s their only son. He never leaves any room for retreat, always pushing things too far. Some people even say he’s got a few screws loose.”
His tone softened a little as he continued, “If you ever run into him, steer clear. You don’t want to get caught up in his shit.
Trina could tell Fred was worried she might get pushed around. But to her, letting someone act so recklessly, with zero regard for human life, was infuriating
And, as if the universe had a twisted sense of humor, there he was.
The door of the Ferran swung open, and out stepped a man with a smug, victorious grin, walking straight toward Fred.
