Chapter 6
Henry, dressed in a perfectly tailored tailcoat, stepped forward and pulled me into his
arms
In his eyes, which were usually beautiful but lifeless, there was a fleeting moment of
amazement.
“Wendy, you look so beautiful today!”
“You can see now?”
“Henry, what are you trying to do?” Ethan asked.
Henry’s handsome eyes gazed at me with deep affection. In a gesture that felt like claiming ownership, he lightly kissed my forehead.
“In order to see my beautiful bride at the wedding, I specially went abroad to get a corneal transplant. Sorry for not being by your side these days, letting those petty people take advantage and bully you!”
After saying that, he turned and gave Ethan, who was stunned, a sideways glance.
“Mr. Hill, I’m holding my bride. What’s the problem? Do you have any objections?” Ethan’s heart was in turmoil, unable to understand how I had gotten involved with Henry. “Who’s your bride? And where is she?” Henry sarcastically curled the corner of his lips. “Mr. Hill, are you also blind now? If you want to treat your blindness, I have experience and can recommend a doctor to you.”
I cooperated by linking arms with Henry and nodded toward Ethan.
“Just as you guessed, today I’m getting married and I’m marrying Henry!”
“No!” Ethan trembled as he gritted his teeth, forcing an angry shout from his throat.
“Wendy, you’re my girlfriend, how could you marry someone else?”
At this moment, he finally remembered that I was his girlfriend, but it was too late.
“Ethan, on what grounds do you interfere with my freedom? Don’t forget, you and Cynthia already have a marriage certificate, you’re a married man. From the moment you left me at the engagement banquet, we’re done.”
