Chapter 23
After the wedding, the guests gradually left, and only a few people remained in the hall.
Gauge remained sitting on the ground, his chest wrapped in bandages soaked with fresh blood, but he seemed to feel no pain as he stared blankly ahead.
Jovany changed out of her wedding dress and walked over to Gauge, wearing a simple white dress.
She held a medicine box in her hand and gently placed it in front of him.
Your clothes are soaked with blood, take care of it yourself. Her voice was calm, but with a hint of
detachment.
Gauge lifted his head, his eyes filled with pain and regret. “Jova, do you really… not love me anymore?”
Jovany didn’t say anything, he just lowered his head and looked at him, with no trace of wavering in
his eyes.
Gauge’s heart felt like it was being tightly squeezed, causing him so much pain that he could hardly
catch his breath. He whispered, “om now on… don’t come to Centronia anymore. We won’t see
each other again.”
Gauge’s face turned pale instantly, and there was a slight tremor in his voice, “Jova, do you really
want to do this?”
she
Jovany didn’t answer, she just turned around and prepared to leave. Gauge suddenly grabbed her
wrist, his voice carrying a hint of pleading, “Jova, do you really love him? Or… is it to get back at
me?”
Jovany’s footsteps paused for a moment, and he fell silent for a few seconds before whispering, “Gauge, I truly fell in love with him. Only a madman would use others for revenge.‘
Gauge weakly let go of his hand, feeling as if his heart had been emptied.
After Jovany left, Gauge sat on the ground, staring blankly ahead. His mind was in chaos, with Jovany’s words echoing in his ears – “I really fell in love with him.”
The brothers stepped forward and patted his shoulder, “Gauge, don’t be like this. At least you
tried.”
Gauge remained silent, only bowing his head and looking at his hands, his eyes filled with pain and
regret.
He knew that he missed her, missed that Jovany who was all in his eyes.

And all of this was caused by himself.
Two years later, on a sunny afternoon in Centronia, the sunlight streamed through the curtains into the room. Jovany held his newborn daughter in his arms, his face filled with a gentle smile. Kamren sat beside her, gently holding her hand, his eyes filled with adoration.
Jova, look, she looks so much like you, Kamren said in a low voice, with a hint of amusement in his
voice.
Jovany looked down at his daughter in his arms and gently touched her little face. “Yes, her eyes are like yours, and her nose is like mine.”
Just at that moment, the doorbell rang
Kamren got up to open the door and found a delicate gift box placed outside, with a card attached to
- it.
He picked up the card, took a glance, and his face instantly became complicated.
He walked back to the room and handed the gift box to Jovany, “Jova, this is from Gauge.”
Jovany was stunned for a moment, took the gift box, and opened it. Inside was a document.
She opened the file, and her pupils suddenly contracted – it was the Adkins Group’s 100% share transfer document.
She picked up the card, on which there was only a short sentence: “I promised to surprise you on your birthday, but I haven’t done it for two years. The shares are the gift I want to give you now, and below the share transfer document is the gift I wanted to give you two years ago. You… take a look, okay?”
Jovany didn’t look at it and threw it into the trash can.
The wind blew over the box, revealing the ring inside.
