Chapter 3
Jovany pushed open the door of the coffee shop, and the wind chime tinkled crisply.
Her gaze swept across the store and quickly settled on a woman sitting in the corner.
The woman was dressed in a well–tailored Chanel suit, with delicate makeup, exuding a natural sense of superiority in her every move. Jovany walked over, pulled out a chair and sat down, his face showing no sign of emotion.
My name is Sloane Travis, and I was Gauge’s fiancée, Sloane said bluntly, with a hint of provocation
in her tone.
Jovany remained silent, simply gazing at her with a calm expression, his eyes as still as a stagnant
pool.
Sloane clearly didn’t expect this kind of reaction from her. She furrowed her brow and said, “You
are Gauge’s girlfriend, and he suddenly has a fiancée. Don’t you have any questions to ask?”
Jovany tugged at the corners of his lips, feeling a cold emptiness in his heart.
What else could she ask? Since that day at the club when she heard those words, she had already
completely given up on Gauge.
She would no longer be surprised by whatever he did.
Sloane’s face darkened when she saw that she remained silent.
She identified herself, originally intending to see Jovany in a hysterical and heart–wrenching state, but the girl in front of her was like ice, too cold for her to make any move.
She gritted her teeth and her tone became sharp, “The Adkins family and the Travis family are soon to be united in marriage, and Gauge has also agreed. No matter what your status is, he will break up with you
you to leave on your own initiative. I can still give you some immediately, so I advise money, otherwise, it will only be embarrassing for yourself.”
Jovany lifted his head and looked at her calmly, “When was the announcement of your marriage
made?”
Sloane paused for a moment and then smiled smugly, “At the beginning of next month, the specific date is not yet set, but it won’t be too long.”
At the beginning of next month, it will be right after her birthday.
It seems that Gauge had already planned it out. On her birthday, she released a video breaking up with her and then married into the Travis family.

Gauge, oh Gauge, you truly had no heart.
Jovany’s voice was faint, “Have you investigated me? If you had just done a little investigation, you would know that I am not short of money. If you called me here today to humiliate me, then you
miscalculated.”
Sloane’s face instantly turned ugly, Jovany glanced at her and added, “And, I remind you, Gauge has no heart, he doesn’t love anyone, only himself. A marriage of convenience is fine, but if you fall in love, you’re doomed.”
After saying that, she stood up and prepared to leave. However, Sloane suddenly stood up and grabbed her wrist, his voice sharp: “Why do you say that about him?!”
Jovany hadn’t had time to react when Sloane grabbed the coffee on the table and forcefully splashed
it at her.
The warm liquid flowed down her hair and cheeks, staining her clothes.
Sloane, however, was still not satisfied and forcefully pushed Jovany to the ground.
Her back hit the corner of the table hard, and she fell to the ground. Her head bumped against the floor, and a sharp pain shot through her. Her vision blurred, and she reached out to touch her forehead, finding her fingertips covered in blood.
Just at that moment, the café door was forcefully pushed open..
Sloane, what were you doing!
A cold voice suddenly sounded behind, carrying suppressed anger.
Jovany looked up and saw Gauge striding towards him, followed by a few brothers. He was wearing a black overcoat, which made his already gloomy complexion even more intimidating.
He pushed Sloane aside and grabbed another cup of coffee from the table, without hesitation, he splashed it towards her.
And then he took off his coat and wrapped it around Jovany, his voice trembling slightly, “Jova, are
you okay?”
Sloane looked at him incredulously, “Gauge, I was your fiancée! How could you betray me for her?!”
