The moment Victor met Edmund’s gaze, his expression turned guilty. He was never good at hiding things.
Edmund instantly understood everything.
His deep eyes flickered slightly. “What exactly happened?”
Vivienne acted as if she hadn’t heard him. She didn’t even bother to look his way.
Dante chuckled lightly and asked, “Vivi, what just happened?”
Vivienne could ignore Edmund, but she wouldn’t do the same to Dante.
She was utterly tired of explaining herself over and over again. Instead of saying anything, she picked up the phone beside her and casually pressed a button.
A video began playing on the screen..
At the same time, Victor’s deafening voice came from the phone.
Vivienne, you murderer!”
Then, the shaky screen showed Victor grabbing a cup and throwing its contents at Vivienne.
The liquid splashed onto the camera, causing the screen to blur instantly.
Edmund suddenly recalled that when he had first entered the hospital room, Vivienne’s hair had been slightly damp, and even the blanket had faint traces of water.
As Vivienne wiped the water off the screen, Victor pointed a finger at her face, his tone domineering as he charged toward her, looking as if he wanted to tear her apart.
Just as he reached out, Vivienne kicked him away.
Caught off guard, Victor crashed into the table beside him, knocking over the cups on top and taking Lillian, who had been standing behind him, down with him.,
The video ended there.
The air in the hospital room instantly turned deathly silent.
Edmund’s dark eyes landed on Lillian. “Lillian, is this what happened?”
Lillian seemed stunned. After a long pause, she nodded. “Yes… Ms. Everest–didn’t push me.”
“Then why didn’t you say so earlier?”
Lillian’s eyes turned red as she said, aggrieved, “I came here to ask Ms. Everest about the accident. Falling down was a small matter. I never meant to blame Ms. Everest for it.”
Indeed, from beginning to end, Lillian had never said Vivienne had pushed her. It was Victor who had. pinned the blame on her.

Edmund’s sharp features turned cold as he looked at Victor. His thin lips parted, and he uttered two words. “Apologize,
Victor froze, “What?”
Edmund’s gaze was icy. ‘Apologize to Vivienne.”
Victor was unwilling.
He opened his mouth to argue, but as a man, he had struck a woman, who was his friend’s wife. No matter how he spun it, he was in the wrong.
He spoke through gritted teeth, “Vivienne, I’m sorry.”
Vivienne raised an eyebrow. “What did you say? I didn’t hear you.”
Victor bit his lip, his expression humiliated.
This time, his voice was louder. “Vivienne, I’m sorry.”
Vivienne responded indifferently, “I don’t think you should apologize, Mr. Victor.
Victor’s eyes lit up. “Eddy, Vivienne herself said I don’t have to…
Before he could finish, Vivienne cut in, “It’s pointless. No matter how you apologize, I won’t forgive you. Shouldn’t you experience water thrown at you instead of forcing an insincere apology? That would be far more practical.”
Victor’s eyes widened in rage. He pointed at her and shouted, “Vivienne, don’t push it! You kicked me tool
Vivienne leaned back against the headboard. “You didn’t think it was excessive when you threw water at me, but now that it’s your turn, you believe I pushed it too far? Victor, don’t you think you’re being a hypocrite? I kicked you in self–defense. If I hadn’t, who knows what you would’ve done? I’m injured and bedridden; I’m no match for a man like you.”
Victor’s face flushed red with anger. He charged forward, ready to argue with Vivienne, but Dante intercepted him midway.
Dante spoke softly, his tone laced with mockery. “Mr. Victor, with so many people here, you still have the audacity to lay a hand on Vivi. That just shows how arrogant you usually are. And the reason you’re this brazen..”
Dante glanced at Edmund, a faint, unreadable smile playing on his thin lips. “It’s all because of a certain someone’s indulgence and favoritism. Mr. Harrington, it’s one thing for you to favor your first love, but what’s this? Do you have to extend that same protection to Ms. Lillian’s friends too? Are you saying that from now on, as long as someone is connected to Ms. Llian; no matter who they are, they can trample all over Vivi and bully her as they please?”
Edmund’s dark eyes deepened. After a brief silence, he turned to Vivienne. “What do you want to do to make the situation right?”
Victor’s expression flickered. “Eddy…”

Lillian’s eyes widened in disbelief. She never thought Vivienne would be so merciless, even in front of Edmund.
Lillian parted her lips. “Eddy…”
Before she could plead, Edmund cut her off indifferently. “Do you want to do it yourself, or should someone else handle it?”
It was clearly directed at Vivienne.
Vivienne’s expression remained calm. “I’m not in the best condition to move right now. Let someone else do it. It wouldn’t be worth worsening my injuries because of him.”

Victor,shot Vivienne a vicious glare before turning on his heel and leaving the hospital room.
Lillian knew there was no point in bringing up the car accident now. She wouldn’t gain anything from it. She quickly followed suit and left as well.
After all the commotion, a faint trace of exhaustion settled between Vivienne’s brows.
Edmund standing by her side was within her expectations. It didn’t stir even the slightest ripple in her heart.
After all, with undeniable evidence in front of him, if his friend dared to lay a hand on his woman and he simply turned a blind eye, he wouldn’t be much of a man.
Besides, the incident had nothing to do with Lillian.
If it had been Lillian who attacked her, then things would have played out very
differently.
Vivienne closed her eyes. “I’m a bit worn out today. Let’s talk about anything else tomorrow.”
Dante and Edmund remained motionless.
Dante stepped forward. “Vivi, at least eat something before you sleep.”
Thinking about how Dante had been the one helping her these past few days, Vivienne opened her eyes and gave him a grateful smile. “Thank you, Mr. Sinclair
Dante said, “I had the cook prepare some of your favorite dishes, but since your wounds haven’t fully healed, you shouldn’t eat anything too spicy.”
Vivienne glanced at the food Dante had brought, her eyes lighting up slightly.
He really had gotten everything she liked.
Edmund, who had been standing silently to the side, found the scene unexpectedly irritating.
