Chapter 14
Just as Miranda’s fingers were inches away from striking Daphne’s face, Daphne, who had been completely still, suddenly sprang into action. She sidestepped with ease and swiftly pinned Miranda against the bathroom sink.
Daphne pressed her hand firmly against Miranda’s face, the other side flat against the marble surface. Miranda struggled to break free, but she could just flail around her efforts were futile.
Being completely overpowered by someone she looked down on was beyond humiliating Miranda let out a frustrated growl, hurling insults ar Daphne. “Let me go! You’re not the only one with connections. If you don’t let me go, you’ll regret it.”
But Daphne wasn’t fazed at all. She leaned in slightly, her beautiful eyes sparkling mischievously as she peered into Miranda’s. “Really? I’m so scared.”
Then she grabbed a bar of soap from the sink and smacked it across Miranda’s face. lathering her up while saying softly, “Your breath is terrible. Let me clean it for you, or you won’t be able to face anyone.”
The soap quickly foamed up, covering Miranda’s face in bubbles that made her look ridiculous, like a snowman. The fragrant scent rushed in with bubbles, filling her nostrils, and enveloping her in its sweetness,
Desperate to keep the bubbles out of her mouth. Miranda clenched her jaw and kept her eyes shut, only muffled groans escaping her throat,
Once the suds were ready, Daphne shoved Miranda’s face under the faucet, letting cold water rush over her to wash away the foamy mess.
Miranda’s muffled cries turned more frantic as the cold water streamed over her. It rushed into her nose, making her choke and struggle desperately
After rinsing all the soap away. Daphne patted Miranda’s checks with satisfaction and grinned. “All clean. You’re welcome” Then she tossed Miranda to the ground like it was nothing and strolled over to wash her hands again.
Finally, the others, who had been too shocked to react, sprang into action. They rushed to lift Miranda from the floor, casting fearful glances at Daphne as she walked away.
Exhausted. Miranda leaned against a colleague. Her tight white dress was stained with a pale yellow liquid–clearly, she was so scared, she wer herself.
No matter how hard she tried to wrap her head around it, she couldn’t believe Daphne went this far. It felt like Daphne would drown her without a second thought
“This woman is really a demon!‘ Miranda thought, then weakly said, “Are you out of your mind?”
Daphne turned back, and the rest of the girls instinctively took a step back afraid she’d treat them the same way she had treated Miranda.
“Now you’re scared, huh?” Daphne let out a mocking laugh, a sly smile cuding her lips. She casually wiped her hands, meticulously cleaning each finger, her movements graceful.
Tina stepped forward, hervoice shaky. “Even though she said bad things about you, you didn’t have to go that far
Daphne raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile on her face. “So you’re saying I should just stand there and let her hit me? Then cry and beg for mercy!”
Tina froze. She couldn’t deny it–Miranda was the one who charged in ready to throw punches. Daphne might have overreacted a bit, but it was still self–defense. Besides, Miranda wasn’t actually in danger. If the cops got involved, they wouldn’t have any grounds to blame Daphne.
Not wanting to waste any more time with these people, Daphne brushed off her clothes and walked straight to the door.
As she passed by, the girls flinched, clearly terrified. Miranda nearly collapsed again it weren’t for someone holding her up.
Nobody dared to speak as they watched Daphne leave the restroom. Just when they thought it was over and let out a sigh of relief, she suddenly stopped. The atmosphere went tense again, and everyone held their Greath, staring at her.
But Daphine acted like nothing had happened, her faint smile still in place. She looked at each of their faces, like she was memorizing them.
Just when they thought she’d brush them off with a a quick remark, she said, “You’ve got a knack for storytelling. You should transfer to the PR department
With that, Daphine turned and left, leaving everyone stunned.
Miranda, looking like a mess, was helped out of the restroom. Her hair was tangled and wet, plastered to her cheeks, making her look frantic and trary, which caught everyone’s attention.

Chapter 14
Someone asked in surprise. “What happened to you!”
Miranda had never felt so humiliated. Her face turned bright red as she Eshed out at the colleague who asked. “None of your business. Get off.
The
he colleague, caught off guard by the angry shout, quickly closed their mouth.
Miranda grabbed a jacket from one of the girls in the restroom to cover her skirt. Ignoring the whispers around her, she hurried toward the lounge, her hair a total disaster.
Once she left, the rest of the colleagues quickly huddled around the other girls, eager to find out what had just happened in the restroom
“Tina, I noticed the new VP came out right before you all did, someone said cautiously.
With her face still pale. Tina nodded slightly
“Even though Miranda can be a bit temperamental, hasn’t there been any major conflict with her in the department, right?” a girl added.
Another one nodded. “Yeah, just look at her hair and dress–they’re in shambles.”
Someone suddenly realized. “Could this have to do with the new VP!”
Instantly, everyone turned to Tina. She felt a bit unnerved under their scrutiny, her face growing even paler as she offered a slight nod.
“Seriously? Is it actually connected to her?”
“She’s been in her new role for less than a day–how could she already be causing drama?”
“You don’t get it. People like her, who use their looks to get ahead, always want to make a big impression. Those first moves have to be impactful”
As the conversation heated up, Tina remembered the chaos in the restroom and felt a wave of panic. She quickly cut in, her voice filled with worry. “Let’s just drop it, okay?”
“Why not” What’s wrong
ng with discussing it?”
“Yeah, we’re just chatting here. Are you seared someone’s going to come after you!”
