The Rejected Mate Ch 6

The Rejected Mate Ch 6

Chapter

1 looked at my phone with a smile spreading across my face as I sent the text to Maya. I remembered how she looked and how lovely she smelled everything was still stuck in my mind, and I could have sworn that I heard the heartbear of a child inade of her. There was something pulling her sowards me and I knew she felt it too, but for some reason she didn’t acknowledge any of it

I had gotten her number from someone who walked closely with Bella, who apparently was my employee. She had Maya registered as her second person and it wasn’t too difficult from there

1ted up my head and looked around the room, my eyes landed on my assistant, Laura, who was looking and smiling at me sweetly

I frowned feeling slightly uncomfortable at her gaze. What is it, Laura? Why are you staring at me I finally asked

She grinnediting her head. Nothing. I’m just curious about why you’re smiling sir.I winced and opened my mouth to answer but she wasn’t door spraking-

Was it because of the successful event?she asked excitedly

1 hesitated for a moment, smiling slightly at the fact that she didn’t realize that the just cut me off, but then returned her smile. Yes, it was a very successful eventI replied, grateful for the fact that she answered her own question, sparing me the need to explain further

She smiled and nodded, her face beaming from every angle. Do you still want to stay for the rest of the event or are you ready to leave?”

I looked around the room, trying to see if there was any person of influence I needed to greet. I could still hear the murmurings and laughter, but most of it was from employees and other not too important people

No, I think I’ve had enough for tonight.”

Her smile widened. “I thought so. That’s why I got the limo ready

y to take you back home.”

I couldn’t help but chuckle. That’s why you’re any assistant, Laura. You always know what I’m thinking”

She blushed slightly at the compliment. Thank you, sir”

Taking a deep breath, I headed outside, with Laura following close behand. The cool breeze of the night brushed against my face in a soothing touch, a welcoming relief from the crowded party inside. I continued walking towards the limo, and then I glanced back at the building my thoughts still on Maya

calling

my name

My thoughts and the serene atmosphere was interrupted as I heard voices cal

Sir, Mr Derrick, what do you hope to achieve next with your company?”

The paparazzi called our and the cameras flashing. I waved them off with a grim smile as I quickly rushed to the limo

The bodyguards cleared them off and it was lent again

the door for me

into the back seat. Make sure to get home safely.I said to her softly

You don’t have to worry about me sir”

GoodI replied and then shut the door. Lost in my thoughts. I looked out of the tinted glass, seeing her stand as watch as the limo drove away

I smiled as I thought about how brilliant she was and not only that, how beautiful she looked. She held a small file to her chest, smiling as the car faded into the busy streets

Laura wasn’t just the perfect assistant, but also the perfect person to represent me both in the office and elsewhere

She had a tiny waist and bug boobs and sometimes I assume that she uses the file to cover them, not wanting people to see how big it truly was. Bui she never used her looks to her advantage. Instead she relied on her intelligence. That was why I chose her as my assistant

People often speculated that we were dating tir at least having an affair, something which of course wasn’t impossible, but that only secured her dedication to pre even more..

I sighed as the car pulled up to my mansion. The tall gates opened by itself and the limo glided into the driveway, stopping in front of the grand entrance I stepped out and headed towards the door

I removed my the and flung my jacket on the couch as I entered the living room. The mansion was strangely quiet, different from the bustling party

Emelia wasn’t home, a sleepover with her friends was the excuse the used this time and I couldn’t keep telling her off, I couldn’t afford losing her again, so didn’t bother to check in on her. I climbed the stains, each of my steps echoing through the silent house

I flung myself on my bed as I reached my bedroom, letting out a long exhausted sigh

1 brought my phone to my face and went through it expecting a message from Maya, but there was nothing. No response. The silence was deafening tossed my phone to the other side of the bed and stared up the ceiling, my mind racing

What do you even see in her

asked myself. Thushed my hair with my fingers and studded. There was something about her that I couldn’t forget. No one che would dare talk to me the way she did at the party and instead of it getting me mad it made me like her more

Imeplayed our convenation in

onversation in my head remembering the way she looked at me with those raging eyes, challenging me. I admired her spirit, but I couldn’t ignore the connection I felt between us, it was real, and I had to prove it to lier

Fucking hellI muttered in frustration, already tired of waiting for my phone to vibrate with her text. I closed my eyes and just then I heard the vibration. Inashed and picked the phone up and there it was, a message from her
