After Roselyn got off the car, Jonas suddenly felt so relieved. He picked up his phone and started calling Elisa frantically, but the phone loept reminding him repeatedly that the other party’s phone was turned off.
He remembered the time when he had just married Elisa. One time, he got drunk at a social event and George brought him home. Elisa was leaning on his shoulder and said to him, “Jonas, remember to call me if this happens again. You are a married man now, you know?” Since then, Elisa’s phone was always on for him, 24 hours a day. There were few cars on Freyford Road in the early morning, and Elisa had gone out countless times to bring him home, completely drunk, because of one phone call from him. People in their circle envied him for having a good wife, but he didn’t think much of it at the time. He was completely focused on his unrequited love for Roselyn, even telling himself repeatedly that Elisa mast have fallen in love with his power and money. But in reality, even after three years of marriage, Elisa never spent as much money as Roselyn did in a day, and he never had to worry about Elisa’s family affairs. He had never even called his in–laws overseas since they got married.
The green light in front suddenly turned red, and Jonas hit the brakes, stopping the car in the middle of the road. He shook his head, not understanding why these fragmented memories suddenly came rushing back. He looked at the brightly lit group building not far away and suddenly snapped back to reality, realizing that now was not the time to think about these things
As the car drove through the entrance of the company, Jonas was startled by the scene in front of him. Almost all the journalists from the major media outlets in Freyford had arrived. His car had a press badge, which even any random intern from a trashy newspaper would know. In an instant, he was surrounded by a group of reporters.
George desperately wanted to come over and protect him in the crowd, but it was so crowded that no matter how hard George shouted, he couldn’t move. Upstairs, there was a large group of shareholders waiting for him to explain Jonas took a deep breath and gritted his teeth as he opened the car door.
The reporters swarmed towards Jonas as he got off the car, like they had gone crazy. He grabbed George in front of him and his voice trembled, “Has Elisa got any. news?”

As soon as George finished speaking, the elevator stopped at the top floor office. Before the elevator doors even opened, Jorias heard a series of angry shouts from outside Jonas forcefully pounded on the elevator door, exclaiming a curse without realizing it. He straightened his disheveled shirt and walked out with George.
