Chapter 12 Punish Sharon
After Roxanne stormed back to Graceville Manor, she unleashed her fury.
On the way back home, she always put on a long face. She was fuming about two things: Edward’s refusal to make Karen replace Sharon, and Sharon caused Garrett to break his leg.
‘Ever since that damn girl came back, nothing has gone right,‘ she thought bitterly.
Holding a glass of water, Karen stepped forward and said, “Grandma, calm down.”
Roxanne shot a cold glance at Sharon, whose expression was unreadable, and her gaze was as frosty and rebellious as ever, her wild nature showing vividly.
Roxanne slammed the cup down in front of Sharon. “Apologize. Now!”
“I didn’t do anything wrong,” Sharon replied flatly, her eyes unwavering.
“You didn’t do anything wrong?” Roxanne sneered. “Who allowed you to spend time alone with Nicholas? Who told you to show off and cause Garrett to break his leg? Are these not your mistakes?”
Madeline added fuel to the fire. “Sharon, your grandma does have a reason this time. The Dolan family just signed a big deal with us. If they cancel it because of this, do you know how much damage that will cause?”
Roxanne’s fury intensified when she thought of the deal. She even wanted to tear Sharon apart.
Roxanne gritted her teeth and thought, ‘The Vance family now ranks the last of the four families, and it’s all because of Sharon’s mother. And now, Sharon came back to
ruin us too.‘
Roxanne yelled, “You need to apologize to the Dolan family. Do whatever it takes to get their forgiveness. If you ruin the deal, I’ll make you regret it.”
Sharon’s voice was steady as she responded, “I told you, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
She casually slipped one hand into her pocket, her gaze growing colder.
Roxanne’s anger reached its peak. “Get her. Teach her a lesson. You really think I can do nothing to you, huh?”
“Madam, please don’t. Ms. Sharon Vance isn’t in great health. You can’t hit her. I can apologize on her behalf. It’s my mistake, I didn’t discipline her properly.” Martin suddenly stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Sharon.
Enzo, wielding a whip, stepped in with a harsh tone. “Move aside, or you’re getting a beating too.”
“Martin, are you crazy? Sharon’s the one who messed up, and now you’re trying to

protect her? You’re not in any better shape either.” Alyssa was practically losing it.
Roxanne snorted, “Don’t just stand there. Get her.”
Enzo swung his whip toward Sharon, but Sharon effortlessly caught it with one hand. Her expression turned gloomy as she said, “You’re pushing me.”
With a swift kick, she sent Enzo flying and snatched the whip from his hands.
Taken aback by Sharon’s agility, Roxanne scowled, “You think you can handle us? You really think you can take the group away? Listen, you’re not walking out that door.”
The bodyguards rushed in, surrounding Sharon.
Karen forced a tense smile and said, “Shari, just apologize to Grandma, and you won’t get in trouble.”
“Yeah, Sharon, just apologize. Don’t drag us down with your mess.” Alyssa protected her son and daughter, her legs shaking. She couldn’t understand how things suddenly went south.
Martin, now seeing through everything, shouted, “Shut up. Sharon didn’t do anything wrong. Roxanne’s just playing favorites.”
For the first time, Martin realized that Roxanne didn’t respect Sharon at all. He regretted sending Sharon back into this house.
Sharon’s eyes flashed with anger, and she turned to Martin. “Dad, stay back for now.”
Most people wouldn’t stand a chance against this, but Sharon was different. As the number one assassin on the Hunter Rankings, whether in a one–on–one fight or a group battle, she was never afraid of anyone.
The tension in the room was palpable.
“Looks like it’s not the perfect time.” Nicholas’s calm voice broke through the silence as he strolled in.
Seeing the bodyguards surrounding Sharon, a cold glint flashed in his eyes. He thought to himself, ‘Looks like Grandpa was right.‘
Roxanne shot him an icy stare. “Mr. Baxter, what are you doing here? I’m handling family matters. I suggest you stay out of it.”
“I’m Sharon’s fiancé. If it’s about her, I’m definitely getting involved,” Nicholas said while walking up to Sharon’s side. He pulled out the doll from behind his back and stuffed it into her arms. “You forgot this.”
Edward went on a hunger strike and forced Nicholas to check the situation and bring Sharon the gift along.
Sharon stared down in surprise at the plush doll in her arms. Before she could react, Nicholas quickly snatched the whip from her grip and said, “Fighting’s a man’s job.

Just let me handle it.”
Sharon looked up at Nicholas, noticing how refined and handsome he looked. She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Can such a gentle, cultured guy actually fight? I’m starting to wonder if he can survive a single blow from those bodyguards.‘
Nicholas had no idea Sharon even looked down on his skills.
Roxanne was fuming. “Nicholas, are you really going to meddle in this?”
“Absolutely,” he replied without hesitation. “She’s my fiancée, and she’s part of the Baxter family now. Seeing all of you bullying her, I can’t just stand by.”
Nicholas thought it was shameless how a bunch of people were ganging up on one girl.
Karen forced out a strained smile and said, “Nick, you’re misunderstanding. We’re not bullying her. Grandma was just scaring her, trying to make her realize her mistakes. No one is actually going to hit her.”
Roxanne added, “Hmph, I’ve been trying to teach her some manners, but she’s too ungrateful to accept that.”
Since Karen offered a way out, Roxanne reluctantly backed off. There was no way she could punish Sharon in front of Nicholas or even hit Nicholas.
‘Madeline waved her hand toward the bodyguards. “Just don’t stand here. You can
leave.”
The bodyguards vanished in an instant, as if they’d never been there.
Karen forced a smile and suggested, “Nick, how about staying for a cup of coffee before you leave?”
Her implication was clear–Nicholas could leave now. With him here, they couldn’t punish Sharon.
Nicholas looked down at Sharon and then asked, “Do you want to leave with me?”
