As I watched the interview, I couldn’t help but let out a mocking laugh.
Six years ago, he and Francesca had thrown a lavish wedding. And every year, they’d celebrate their anniversary. But just like that, it was over.
When questioned by the police, Francesca confessed to the crime. She had tried to have me killed, yet the plan failed.
Still, she didn’t think that she had done anything wrong and had no intention of apologizing to me.
I went to see her once. She no longer had her flawless makeup, and the designer jewelry that usually adored her was gone. Now, she looked plain.
The moment Francesca saw me, her eyes flared with hatred.
“Savannah, you really are hard to kill, aren’t you? My biggest regret is not having someone stab you to death!” she yelled.
“Roderick was my first love. He did have feelings for me. You ruined everything! Even if he didn’t love me, he still married me. We were together for six years. This is ali your fault!
“You shouldn’t have come back. If you’d just stayed away, I wouldn’t have done any of this. Everything happened because of you!
“You shameless woman! You fell for a man who could’ve been your uncle! And now, Roderick’s fallen for you, too. Go to hell!”
Francesca had clearly lost her mind. Her face contorted with fury, but all I felt was sorrow.
As I turned to leave, I finally said something. “Francesca, what did any of this have to do with me? After everything you did, what did you even gain?”
She said nothing and simply let tears stream down her face.
With that, I walked out of the police station.
Over the last few years, my life felt like one long drama. If I could go back in time, I would never have fallen in love with Roderick.
